  1. Thanks for taking a look. I'm just trying to get a consensus on the grade as is and if I should have CCS press it. There are a couple spots around mid-spine that make me worry about submitting as is.
  2. I probably didn't do so well on this round. I had a huge question on one that I couldn't find a good answer for. So I may have picked up too many points on this one. With the eye of a lot of these contestants you aren't ever gonna catch up if you end up with more than a point or two per round at most.
  3. Man. I was 1 grade off on every single one. Top ten is a looking ways away. Time to brush up a bit I guess!
  4. Thanks for all the replies. I think I'll ship her off for a press and grade and wait the 6-8 months until it comes back!
  5. So this book if pretty flat and tight. The one area that really concerns me is in picture 7. It appears to be a scratch over the NG in the title. No color break.
  6. This is the best looking one I could find in my area. I'm thinking about having it graded. Maybe pressed beforehand, but pressing is taking soooo long right now. I'd appreciate some feedback on its current grade. I'm not very good at estimating, but I'm thinking at least a 9.2
  7. I recently submitted a Marvel Super-Heroes #8 that came back an 8.0. I bought it from a guy online and paid $100 for it because he felt it was NM. I am trying to decide if I should resubmit with a press? How much of a bump could I reasonably get? Here are the grader notes: light bends to coverlight creasing to coverlight spine stress lines to cover
  8. Yeah. With these high print count 90s books it doesn't seem worth it to slab a 9.2
  9. Hello. I have a copy of Batman Adventures Mad Love I just picked up. Was considering having it slabbed, but I'm not sure if it is worth it. See the pic.... White scuffing in two places near the spine. Should I not worry about it and still get it slabbed, or keep on the lookout for a cleaner copy?
  10. I don't see a whole lot of love for my man Arthur! Aquaman is one of my top two. And I figured it may be easier to put together a full vol 1 run of Aquaman than anything else. Since I started last year I have only picked up 24 of the 63 issues. Most are mid\low grade. I have 4, 8, 13-15, 24, 27-29, 31, 33, 34, 38-41, 44, 45,51-54, 58 and 60. Unfortunately my #29 (first Ocean Master) is ultra low grade. Taped, restapled, etc. Couldn't see those on the ebay photos. Learned a good lesson there. $40 down the drain. So far nothing worth slabbing. I hope to change that sometime soon. If you come across any good deals on Aquaman vol 1 feel free to post a link here. Or just talk about your own Aquaman collection. I'm always down to discuss Aquaman!
  11. Trying to get started in Golden Age books. I bought a batman #103 thinking it was Golden, but it turned out to be the first Silver. And then this week I bought a Police Comics #52 and Whiz comics #46. Both low grade and not valuable on the market, but valuable to me because, hey, their my first Golden books. You guys have any suggestions besides eBay for picking up low grade Golden Age books for low prices?
  12. Packing it up to submit now. Will let you guys know how it turns out.
  13. Thanks! I just picked up the Overtreet guide to grading. Hopefully I won't be asking you guys anymore soon!
