The cover and first 2 wraps are detached at the bottom staple. There’s no other hidden defects. Centerfolds good. I’m thinking this is a 4. The overstreet guide allows a cover being detached at 1 staple at a grade of 3.5. I’m not sure how the other 2 wraps factor into that. Also the grades are based on an accumulation of defects so I’m thinking that the lack of other defects at that grade will bring it up to a 4.
I sent it in last week mainly so I could see how badly this staple effects the grade. I’m prepared for a 3 but hopeful for a 4. Either way I’ll have an answer in a few months.
In the mean time I was wondering what everyone else’s thoughts were on this. I’ll post the grade once I get it back.
thanks in advance.

question referring to my original post did you press and clean it to help get the 3.0? as I thought it might help
No just sent it in as is. You mentioned it might not help that much and I had zero experience with any of this so I just sent it in under the value category and waited a long 5 months. I was shocked and pleased with the 3. I was think 2-2.5 with the spine split and all the creases.

Really, I thought the creases were gonna drag it down more than the piece missing.
I had a Hulk 2 (this is the 'before' picture) with a MUCH bigger piece out of the cover. Sent it to @joeypost for pressing and some chiropractic treatment ( ) and it came back a 2.5 as well.
Maybe having the cover and centerfold still attached with both staples helped off set the creases. Or maybe they felt bad about making me wait 4&1/2 months I don’t know. Either way I’m not complaining. That Hulk #2 is a nice book you got there.

I sent it off to CGC back in July and finally got the grade for it today. It’s a 5.5. I’ll post a pic when I get it in the mail.

7/8 Value submission moved to SFG. TAT at time of sub was 60 days. We are now at 80 and it will probably be 100. A person could come down with a bad illness and die in that time. No more Value tier for this person.
They should have a section on the submission form to list your next on kin.

My 6/21 value is still in SFG.
Yeah I’m not expecting to get them till mid to late December based on the feedback on here but When you’ve been starring at “received” for 4 months any Change is exciting.

Holy !! Mine just switched to scheduled for grading after being in received since 7/11. Could the end really be near? I’m not getting my hopes up but it would be nice.

Mine have said “scheduled for grading” since 7/11. I checked today and now they just say received. It’s going in the wrong direction. Maybe I should notify CGC my next of kin just in case.

I just did the standard value on the 5 comics I sent in. No pressing or fast track. I got 3 others I was thinking about sending in. Maybe I’ll fast track those and see which ones I get back first.

I have 5 comics getting graded for value and it’s been scheduled for grading since 7/11/19. Judging by everyone’s comments I may get lucky and get these back by Christmas but I may not either.
