If all three of the artists are still alive, start a new project on a different book. Leave well enough alone.

This is a classic example of too much and not enough happening simultaneously.

Like the fast track option?

The upside is minimal. The chance of additional damage happening outweighs any improvement that would happen. 

Appears I had to call yet again, about a fast track order that was not handled as a fast track order. The customer service rep was very nice and immediately refunded my fast track fees. Another $15.00 lost due to CGC since they have been unable to deliver (at least in my last two cases) on an extra service that was paid for. So instead of having a book back 5 days ago, I have a book sitting  in limbo. Outstanding.

The TAT for Vintage Fast Track is currently listed as 15 working days (holidays and weekends do not count). If your books are well beyond that I would contact customer support. 

CGC has not delivered fast track for vintage books for the last few months. I will no longer submit under fast track as I seem to pay $15 for excuses. 

Any slab under $45.00 is now $25.00

A press may help. I would not attempt to do any dry cleaning on this book. 

Was it wiped down with more than water? 
 

Another possibility, although slim, is that a previous owned tried to clean it up and resulted in what the graders now see.

This is all correct, when you want to press/clean a book you need to assess whether or not that is going to improve the grade.  In this case, there's a lot of wear along the right side of the front cover that isn't going to improve, and will thus limit the grade.

Yep. Not the best candidate to submit, but the press job was sub-par.
