  1. I can't believe one of our awesome board detectives has not figured out who the seller is yet.

If it was a Danny Dupcak thread we would already have a Google image of the guys house so we would know where to throw the toilet paper. lol

I know the participants. I'm just waiting for a fair explanation before weighing in.

Is "I got a better offer and took it" a fair explanation? (shrug) Because all word-smithing aside, that's what it's probably going to boil down to.

If that is what happened, Chris...no it's not.

It's unethical, dishonest and downright shitty.

Remember Jeff's Batman #1, which he 'bought' from Silver Arse, only to discover they had decided to sell it elsewhere for more coin? Same thing...and Silver Arse rightly got pounded for breaking a deal.

  2. like i said..post a picture of the 8.5 still slabbed, and sealed with today's date on a paper next to it...

    krypto....

I would post the book here if I still had it. I recenly sold the book at Wonder Con . Having said this I admit the books look almost identical, however even though they are very similiar, they are not the same book . Apparently I can not clear my name here because I don't have any evidence to refute your claims that I am guilty, however a person is not guilty because they can not prove their innocense . I will be pursuing a legal opinion regarding your defamatory statements here. I will not be subject to defend every ridiculous claim made here.

Thanks to anyone keeping an open mind regarding this as this isn't the "end of the world", but it does suck considering I have done zero wrong here.

A threat of legal action, some one called it in an earlier post.

  3.

this thread had accomplished what it set out to do, alert the cgc boards to how this particular seller approaches selling books... but if this particular seller doesn't comply to someone elses standards, then I am not sure I would say "dishonest', but more along the lines of "not disclosing to one's fellow boardies"

we would hope that we would be motivated to help each other out, but folks, come on, that just ain't the way the wheel turns

Stop with the logic, reason and open minded approach to this situation.

You're going to ruin a perfectly good thread. :baiting:

Are you covering for Roy this evening Rick? :baiting:

    Good one

  4. Casting rumors for Rick in the Walking Dead TV series:

    http://www.bigshinyrobot.com/reviews/archives/12143

A lot of people have been buzzing about, talking about Frank Darabont’s adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s zombie masterpiece The Walking Dead.

What not a lot of people have been talking about is casting of the lead, Rick Grimes

Big Shiny Robot! has talked to a few different sources about names that are in the ring for the series and we’re pretty happy. There are a couple of sources we talked to with varying reliability, but these names all made a lot of sense, so we want to throw these out there and get the conversation going. If you don’t know about Walking Dead and have never read it, it’s perhaps one of the best comics being published today. Grab the first trade from Amazon right here and you won’t regret it.

The most reliable sources point us to Jamie Bamber as in the running for Rick. You might remember him from Battlestar Galactica playing Lee Adama.

    jamie-bamber.jpg

in the midst of watching BSG for the first time now and I have to say, this would be a great choice. He’s a strong actor, has the right look and handles televised drama really well.

Next on the list is Mark Pellegrino, who is on Dexter and plays Jacob on Lost.

    mark_pellegrino.jpg

has a little bit less of the look, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t work. He’s an incredibly talented actor and any show would do well with him at the helm. And really, doesn’t he look like a guy that would make the hard choices in a zombie apocolypse?

And then the last name on the list. Stuart Townsend. The “would-be” King of Middle Earth. The “would-be” Asgardian….

I’m assuming he could work, but I haven’t seen him in much of anything as he seems to always get replaced at the last minute. If he does get cast, I’d expect that to happen again. But who knows.

Someone mentioned on that site that Kevin Bacon would be a good Rick. I could see that.

  5. One kid is gonna bite another kid while playing and Carl is gonna...deal with them both. lol

A situation like this makes a lot of sense to me - particularly Carl or Rick losing it and doing something stupid/crazy. I wonder what it would say about them in the long run though - are they never going to find any peace at all? How can they if they can't at this point, things are only going to get worse again eventually.

I'll be honest, I don't really want them to find a soft place to fall, I want more bad things happening soon.

I hear you, but sometimes you need some calm to really appreciate the horrible.

  6. And is that a bad thing? ???

No, and I give to charities a lot, including a direct withdrawal at work for United Way, but as the saying goes, there can be too much of a good thing.

I hit the forums for a break from real life, to talk/argue/etc. funny books, and I would imagine I'm not alone. When real bad news hits a member of our community, I'm all for a discussion and help (like with Nik's untimely passing) but I also think running a Forum Auction for someone's second cousin is going a bit too far.

Hey Vince, Just a little curious, did you ever donate anything to Nik's auction? hm

As much as I would like to know the answer to this question, it really isn't anyone's business.

I don't mind, and the answer is no, I was not able to buy anything at Nik's auction. If you remember, I was immediately heading off on a family vacation where I didn't have Net access, and when this was brought up (the auction was during a Canadian long weekend) I endured all sorts of insults along the lines of "I guess Nik should have picked a more convenient time to pass away" and similar.

Pretty low stuff, even for the CGC Boards. :sorry:

No one cares, Vince. In fact, your attempt to make yourself appear the victim in the scenario is your newest low and the worst display of bad taste (outside of Whisp saying Nik got what he deserved) I have seen in a while... and that's saying a lot... even for the CGC boards.

Thats what happens when you bully someone into a corner, they attack back.

Funny how everything you guys did to me and what nik said to me when I got out of the hospital which was along the lines of to bad I wasn't dead are all considered words on the internet that I am suppose to get over and don't mean anything but then what I said is such a big deal and get brought up from time to time.

You can't have rules for yourselves and rules for others which is becoming more and more apparent as time goes on is what your group does.

    doh!
