  2. the cage books had two mc 1's; i think the other was an october 5.0. i don't think either had ow/w pages, which i really love about mine. thanks again Paul.
  3. Billy, that copy is just incredible!!! MARVEL #1 would have to be my ultimate , unattainable grail... if I were to sell ALL my books, I'd be lucky if I could get a 1.5 !! IF I could find one for sale! The Frank R. Paul cover is one fo my golden age favorites... As Surfer said, I'm not worthy ... much appreciated Ryan. i've owned it over a decade now--i wouldn't be able to get this book today, so i'm very thankful indeed to have it. my ultimate grail as well.
  4. and one more, that just went up on the m.m. pedigree thread. Billy that has some of the richest colors I have ever seen on a copy of that issue. thanks much Peter; it's my pride and joy.
  5. Quietly.... I think I would be too shaken up to go quietly with a book like that begging to be held. there was poetic license used there; he can't do anything quietly.
  6. Thanks RHG! I nearly wept... who are you kidding? 'nearly'? way to go my brother. i'm proud for you.
  7. The man is on fire! he's using timely balm to soothe that 'gator roundball team wound.
  8. glad you took my advice on going after the mm's nice and slow.
  9. i was there when it was pointed out--wasn't mattie. it was a bird from a more northern clime. a very excitable bird. Do tell ...... gotcha; Parker, P.I.
  10. you laughed at that 'thumb' barb, huh? well as to the description "cheap, but fun," looks like you got it half right.

  12. believe me, he can keep those babies coming until your retinas are but burned-out cinders. of course, you can still thumb and smell your books thereafter.
  13. if only mine was of such a "lesser" grade. this is the daring most reminiscent of early marvels--after #1, my favorite of the run. and as to i being a fanatic, i spent a good deal of time coming up with the perfect rejoinder: so? two pretty books sir, congrats.
  14. Luckily there are good people in the hobby who are willing to help out a youngster! But why did he have to be a lawyer adam, they're now burying us lawyers in 30' graves down here in the south.
  15. that's knocked flat out of the park. well done, sir.
  16. Thanks to that shot, I now have to clean my computor screen. Are there any timely's you don't have yet mr. parker? many, many, many not in my collection; now, if you're talking about timely/atlas super-hero appearances, i've put a little dent in that one.
  17. thank you my tech-wizard. by the way, those are all the 'all_______'s Timelys.
  18. yes it would, but when has "wrong" ever deterred or even entered the thought process of a 'gator fan.
  19. Arrrgh, thought I had pullled a Honus Wagner and had all of those recalled. I plead no contest, your honor. I'm feeling generous - what pedigree Mystery Men do you have? STEVE steve, it's the allentown m.men 11. not really for sale, was just giving a little goose to xavier logan.
  20. that even warms the heart of a timely-geek. magnificent!
  21. Good god man..3 pedigree Mystery Men runs..You sir are the grand wizard of greedy SOB's in my book.It also explains why books of this caliber are so hard to get.I would love to have just ONE pedigree Mystery Men. I am honored by the "grand wizard" nomination XL, but the Official Manual of Regulations for Greedy SOB's specifically states (Chapter 2, section 13, subparagraph B1) that in order to qualify for membership an individual must own multiple copies of the same book at the same time....so that unfortunately leaves me out. I will however continue on as Hall Monitor in the Greedy SOB thread until I can earn a real promotion. STEVE steve, stop trying to lawyer your way out of it--you are a greedy sob. you're quoting an old copy of the manual. the new one actually pictures you next to the designation!
