  1. Is Comic Connect the same as Metropolis Comics? They both had their websites down at the same time and use the same interface.
  2. That book apparently came out on June 18th, 1974, which predates the convention. Could the Marvel Treasury then be the original appearance of this drawing? Any idea who may be in possession of the original (or redesigned) artwork?
  3. Never heard of these books. What is the history of them? Curious that the cover of this and the other Spidey is not a replica, but appears to be completely redrawn.
  4. Confused is that projected turn sound time includes the pressing? Or is that the grading time after the book is pressed?
  5. How long should I expect for these two comics to come back? ASM 55 and 100 Grading (2) Pressing (2) Fast Track Economy Grading $86.40 Handling $5.00 Fast Track Economy Pressing $110.00 USPS Shipping $35.00
  6. Perfect placement with your hands over the Thing's and your phone/face directly on top of his
  7. My son loves Archie comics. How much for the lot and could you ship to me by Christmas?
  8. What was your primary reason for purchasing this book? If you’re intention is to sell at some point in the future, will you advertise this as a 9.8 book or a 9.2 that happened to score higher for whatever reason? If your purchase was solely to own the best version of the book possible, obviously that didn’t happen. So I don’t see a winning outcome here for anyone unless you are able to return it. If you can’t, you have a few less favorable options: 1). Sell the ‘9.8’ and kick the can down the road to the next buyer (please don’t). 2). Sell as a 9.8 that ‘presents’ like a 9.2 (honest, but not sure I’ve ever seen this). 3). Crack it and sell raw with plenty of pictures and hope to recoup your money (Caveat emptor). 4). Learn to live with it but stare at the those ticks every time you look at the book. 5). Give it to me to relieve the stress (win/win scenario).

  10. Sadly, if that were the case, I would immediate degrade the book from a 9.8 to an average 5.5
  11. Nice! Yes, I've read both issues. They are great! Do you have 16? It took me SO long to find that in at least a 9.0
  12. Hey Simba! Yeah, I agree the book looks great. I just meant that for the extremely high amount that this book went for, I would have thought (on face value) that the book would have been all white or otherwise presented almost flawlessly for the grade. I've typically seen 39 go for 10%-15% more than 40. Either way, it's a great sign for these books
  13. We all have been there: The sweet spot between that light source glare and the reflection of ourselves taking pictures in our underwear. The correct horizontal and vertical alignment to capture the full case/book/grade without presenting Liefeld-like cover proportions. The slight imperfections in clarity, color temperature, sharpness, and contrast that never seem to fully and accurately represent the glorious presentation visible to the naked (and afraid) eye. The elusive perfect background: marbled counter tops, shag carpets, plaid loveseat. You are only as good as your worst flooring/furniture material. The ‘QVC’: hand modeling your books with a simple lift with one hand and snap with the other. Enough finesse to exert proper balance and single-handed dexterity, but with little care or concern to go beyond the quick grab and snap. Did you remember to shave your knuckles? The scanner. Finally got this POS to connect to my computer and moved the enormous pile of junk off the lid to open it up. Wait. How the %!<{@ do technology proficient nerds even fit this in their scanner? Why is mine not only cut off like Lt Dan but also nothing but an oversized vanity mirror reflecting the scan light? ! I swear my cover just faded a little bit. Time to post. Fortunately, after all this trouble, there won’t be a better version of what I just shared that makes my efforts all for naught.
  14. So I know this is for Amazing Spider-Man books, but I just had to post this here because I know everyone here will especially appreciate it. Romita is far and away my favorite Spidey artist and I’ve been after a high grade version of his first Spidey art/cover for a while! So hard to find this issue above an 8.0. Glad to have this finally!
  15. Wonder why that 40 went so high? It wasn’t even all white pages or perfectly square. I got a 9.0 39 earlier this year for far less. Very odd.
  16. I wanted that ASM 40, but it went for well over my maximum bid. I did score the DD 16 9.4 for a decent price though.
