  1. It is a nice copy and I'm happy to have it, but the book is not quite as nice as the scan looks. (Still a nice pickup for $25)
  2. I wish I could get my hands of a better copy of the OFF 35. Love that cover

  4. I love this book :cloud9:along with all the others and watched you win this Beauty before e-bay hid our ID's from each other. I had no idea how much this book would go for and were you happy with the grade the seller assigned. It looks great from your scan. (thumbs u Nice Pick-ups!! :applause: I am happy with the grade assigned, but when I bid, I thought from the scan that it might have been in even higher grade. What killed me is it took a month to get and arrived in a tyvek mailer with only a couple comic backing boards. A month in the mail system in that packaging had to add some dings.
  5. doh! I guess it wasn't that rough after all.
  6. Just got my scanner up and running.
  7. Got my scanner back up and running. Here are some pick ups going back a little while. I didn't realize I messed up on the scans for these raw books, but I already put them away.
  8. It still kills me that he didn't slab the GIC 87 before selling it. I would have made a serious bid for it, but I just couldn't justify bidding that kind of money on a raw copy from a seller that I didn't know. Like Andy said, I hope it grades 8.5 (thumbs u
  9. I think the bottom corners (both) are missing on both books. The newer scan just has that mark right over the bottom right corner, where the older scan was a bigger picture and the mark is off to the side not on the book. The other difference is the new scan is blurry and the old one is not.
  10. Wow, I don't think this thread has gone a day without someone posting something in weeks....then I made this post and no one has posted for a couple days. Do you guys think this book is the same as this one (same seller-see his feedback) I think it is. same book?
  11. Check out this description: DC OUR ARMY AT WAR COMIC, #83,1959. I BEEN TOLD THAT THIS COMIC BOOK AT A HIGH PRICE. 12. Nice grades on some pretty decent books. Didn't you win a CGC 6.5 OAAW 112 last year on e-bay and is one now for sale? I did win a CGC 6.5 a while back. I'm not looking to sell right now, but you're the third person to ask. I will let you guys know if I decide to sell.
  13. My scanner is shot, but I got some books back yesterday: Action 242 CGC 5.0 Bone 1 CGC 9.4 (Qualified signed on cover) G.I. Combat 87 CGC 5.0 Our Army at War 112 CGC 7.0
  14. This post contains disturbing graphic material, which may be offensive to some war comics fans. Viewer discretion is advised. G. I. Combat 44, Jan-57, 1st DC issue, gray-tone cover, artwork by Kubert, Heath, full-page Kirby's Challengers of the Unknown ad. Condition leaves something to be desired, but it can't be an easy book to find. My mantra is "nice for the price". Jack Every book looks better signed I love the placement of his signature. Sweet book (thumbs u
  15. I think it will be a bit before I can scan them, but this is a scan of the G.I. Combat 87 CGC 5.0 before it was slabbed:
  16. Just got a few books back from CGC. My scanner isn't working, but I will get some pics up when I get it fixed or get a replacement. Two of the books are War books: G.I. Combat 87 CGC 5.0 Our Army at War 112 CGC 7.0
  17. My top ten,,,I have only been collecting war books for a few years, and I only collect DC Big 5 so that is what my list will consist of. 10. Our Army at War 112 - Brady Bunch Cover 9. Our Fighting Forces 71- Awesome Grey Tone 8. All American Men of War 67- 1st G&S 7. G.I. Combat 56 - Love the cover and prototype issue 6. G.I. Combat 80 - One of my all time favorite covers 5. G.I. Combat 91 - Another One of my all time favorites 4. G.I. Combat 87 - 1st Haunted Tank and what a cover 3. Our Army at War 81 - Almost the 1st Rock 2 G.I. Combat 68 - "The Rock" and also, my first DC War book 1. Our Army at War 83 - 1st True Rock
  18. Holy Flounders Shep, That is a sweet copy! $37 sounds like the steal of the century! I am jealous! Nice pick up Shep (thumbs u
  19. I think both books look HGFWB (High Grade for War Books (thumbs u ) Very Nice (thumbs u (thumbs u
  20. I've got one at CGC right now....but it won't be anywhere near an 8.0
  21. As the seller is a board member, I hope my comments don't offend anyone. I just wish it was slabbed so I could feel comfortable bidding on it. I've been stung too many times. Outside a handful of sellers, I will never pay more than a few hundred dollars for a raw book again.
  22. My thoughts are I can't believe it hit $2000. If it was a slabbed 8.0/8.5, I would have done whatever I could to be able to make a run at it, but a raw copy being offered by a seller who KNOWS what the Heritage 8.0 went for sounds like trouble. Why not pay the $50 and get it slabbed?
