  2. Holy Flounders Shep, That is a sweet copy! $37 sounds like the steal of the century! I am jealous! Nice pick up Shep (thumbs u
  3. I think both books look HGFWB (High Grade for War Books (thumbs u ) Very Nice (thumbs u (thumbs u
  4. I've got one at CGC right now....but it won't be anywhere near an 8.0
  5. As the seller is a board member, I hope my comments don't offend anyone. I just wish it was slabbed so I could feel comfortable bidding on it. I've been stung too many times. Outside a handful of sellers, I will never pay more than a few hundred dollars for a raw book again.
  6. My thoughts are I can't believe it hit $2000. If it was a slabbed 8.0/8.5, I would have done whatever I could to be able to make a run at it, but a raw copy being offered by a seller who KNOWS what the Heritage 8.0 went for sounds like trouble. Why not pay the $50 and get it slabbed?
  7. I don't know what the resto was, but that's a great looking book (thumbs u
  8. I love them!!!! Thanks Shep! That #80 just made my day. Andy Wow Shep. Those are some awsome copies of three of my facorite G.I. Combats. Here's my GIC 80. Hopefully I can upgrade it one day (back cover has a lot more wear), but I'm happy to have this one until I do.
  9. That is a very nice looking copy of a tough to find book. (thumbs u
  10. Holy Shep!! Those are some very sweet looking G.I. Combats. That 54 looks incredible.
  11. = You know, I'm coming to Jesus on the fact that there are lot of these books I will NEVER own in high grade. In truth, that will be the case for most of us I suspect. So you put your runs together in the shape you can best afford, and sometimes the sun and the earth and the moon align and you're in the right place at the right time to score a really smokin' copy of something.... which ain't so bad. For what it's worth, I am constantly in a state of jealousy over everyone else's war books. Which is totally irrational, because my collection is pretty okay. Shep It's only January, but "pretty okay" may be the understatement of the year Shep. I agree with you by the way. I am very happy to just work on some mini-runs with whatever grades I can get. I still haven't completed 10 consecutive issues of any one title yet, so I'm past being picky. It's been a while since the sun and the moon have aligned for me though.
  12. Look at the bidder history. What is the story there? I saw that too. Bizarre. What is the dark spot on the top right corner? Is that on the book or just a shadow in the picture?
