  1. Close call for Toro's "jewels" No it wasn't! You saying he hasn't any?
  2. Yes! Or Arkhams, Fantasy Press - whatever the hey - Heinlein, Asimov, HPL - CA Smith - love that stuff - have a few myself Would love anything rare or variant - i think that stuff is so underappreciated compared to many comics... lots of great DJ's...
  3. Beautiful copy! Close call for Toro's "jewels"
  4. Somehow I knew you had that stashed away... Just a wonderful collection. Hey BZ - I know this is a Comic board, but do you have any early Sci-fi specialty press items with nice cover illo (Bok,Paul,Cartier?)
  5. Soooooooo RED.. no doubt that Marvels were "evil" with all the red and black and DC's were "innocent"...with all those "cool" yellows and blues... - hey - those look like those early 70's "Alligator" baggies on those beauts! C'mon BZ, can you pleez front and center the #9 like all the nice people are askin
  6. C'mon BZ, admit it... you shave with the corners of your books! Wow! is all I can say
  7. BZ really has the goods... he just loves teasing us... probably has the Tarzan too - and just look at all those minty fresh DJ spines on the far right in the middle pic - I suspect many nice Arkhams, Burroughs & other Sci-Fi specialty press on those shelves - oh and he said Vintage Paperbacks too - probably has the LA Bantams & Reform School Girl while he's at it
  8. Ok Bangzoom - so pleez tell me now that you also have all the early Weird Tales & Arkham House HP Lovecraft, CA Smith & RE Howard titles, mint in DJ and you will be my hero... as if you aren't already... wait you collect Burroughs... so tell me you have Tarzan of the Apes first ed. in DJ or the Argosy All-Story's??? The breadth of your stuff is awesome already, and since you collect the sci-fi genre, I bet you have some of this material also (well, maybe Tarzan 1st in DJ is a stretch, think there's only 7 known copies!!!)
  9. I look at all posts on CGC and don't think i've seen this one up there yet... your choices are MOST excellent. You may not have every GA book, but you sure do have doozies of what U have !!!
  10. Anyone notice his hair is a different color every month? He is a real girly-man...
  11. My daughter's (thus mine ALL TIME favorite comic
  12. Thanks bang-zoom! I love seeing these rare, esoteric titles in such incredible condition. Not to say one bad word about Action 1, but personally I am _so_ thankful you don't have one... If I recall correctly, he has never said he didn't have an Action 1, just that there wasn't one in the collection that was rescued from the garbage. So, who knows I love seeing whatever he posts anyway though - especially all these great primary color early beauts
  13. Wow - I have been away from boards for 2 weeks and came back to see this thread. The only thing I can say about those group and room shots is that it looks like the scene from the end of "National Treasure" where they light the torches in the hidden room and you can see the hoarded treasures of past civilizations spread out as far as the eye can see. Thank you so much for sharing this. One other question that wasn't asked, if you have the time - do you have many multiples or is it all single copies?
  14. the power of christ compels you... the power of christ compels you...
  15. That Popeye 9.4 is Eye-Poppin' Awesome colors & old-label too. Nice. Keep em coming.
  16. absolutely loving it... funny though, since I owned the 8.0 LR FC82 - you don't have all the best copies - but are just shooting for an over-all HG collection. (I'd say it's super-duper HG for FC) How long has this been going on? Collecting for years or just recent? I see a lot of Heritage stickers on these copies so probably picked up recently & not picking up for a song??? Wow factor is great since these aren't seen lined up like Sup's or Det's in these threads...
  17. Uh - I don't think this is a snoozer... maybe compared to Frazetta WSF 29 but this is a cool little BR cover dude... I am gonna have to look out for this now...
  18. A couple of recent pick -ups: Here's Petunia's 1 & only solo book - looks like that Porky book she's reading will go the way of most Four colors that you see- dog-eared & chocolate stained This copy just has that paper worn off in the the upper left, otherwise a VF+ copy - I never saw one before this one. And a cover that I just dig for some reason... maybe it reminds me of childhood & the happiness that you could get just from yummy smells
