  1. Has anyone had any movement on the old value tiers? Just curious. I’ve got one sitting since early May with no movement.
  2. Sad to actually say, but I'm right there with you. LOL
  3. I can’t make heads or tails of. One brand new Off the shelf comic came back a 6.5 with no notes!! WTF??? No bends, tears, missing pages, spine ticks, lines that break color anything at all, and it was pressed beforehand. It’s mind boggling honestly. I won’t be sending anything else for awhile. Which sucks cause I’ve got a massive stack and usually send 3-400 a year. Can’t waste money on ridiculous TAT and some kind of wonky grades…..
  4. Absolute worst CGC order I’ve ever seen!!!!!
  5. 25 book Modern Slow boat Arrived at CGC 5/15 Recieved 7/16 Shipped 11/16 At the door 11/26 now fingers crossed the grades aren't horrendous..............
  6. When i called yesterday they said they were just starting July value submissions. (for whatever that info is worth I suppose) I have a 7/15 that is still in line.....
  7. It isn’t I promise. Not only do I submit a ton, but I’m very good friends with a dealer who submits literally thousands a year. I can assure you FIFO with TAT starting at reception of package has been the rule for at least the last 15 years. Guaranteed for sure 100%. I agree they are completely overwhelmed and under prepared, but this new moving TAT is new.
  8. Ok folks I’ve solved this disagreement once and for all. TAT for all tiers today (which applies to all current and past orders forever and always is “MAYBE” check back tomorrow it will be the same. just to eliminate any confusion in 6.2 months from now it will still be “MAYBE” good luck to all and God speed!
  9. And I’m not disagreeing with you; however, that is a recent policy change because that absolutely is NOT the way it has always been.
  10. Exactly correct, and don’t beat me up here too much for defending them but my experience in the last 20 years almost has been FIFO with minor fluctuations based on “hot” books received. Now today I was told the exact opposite. I wasn’t trying to create an argument. I was merely pointing out that TAT are completely irrelevant. If the goal post is ever moving than you are perpetually stuck. That’s my entire point. I’ve only had a couple orders miss the TAT by much over the years. This one however by my estimate is 40+ days late as the TAT when received was 82 days. I’m on day 123 with absolutely no “estimates” on when it will be done since tomorrow the stated TAT could jump to 5000 under this apparent new policy. If the customer service rep was right the bottom line here folks is TAT is a useless concept which means nothing.
  11. It is difficult to understand cause it doesn't make any sense at all. Here's an example to clarify. 1 book submission today 5 day TAT. In 4 days TAT increases to 10 days. In 9 days TAT increases to 15 days. In 14 days TAT increases to 20 days. Etc, etc, etc,....... So on day 100 you call and say "Hey just wondering where my book that was submitted with a 5 day TAT is at? "sorry sir or madam the current TAT is 250 days so check back at 251..... Its a perpetual spiral of indefinite dates. I suppose it works if everyday they ship out every single comic with the current TAT, but that isn't happening either. I've called CGC twice (before today) in 20 years with issues. On both occasions I was told TAT was tied to the submission date and not the current TAT. So if you submit and it 20 days then bump to 100 you are still on 20 day TAT cause your invoice number was submitted with that stated TAT. I guess something drastic happened and that policy changed. Best solution is eliminate TAT's altogether. CGC should just state "whenever" as the TAT.
  12. The thing that is interesting to me is the lack of consistency in information relating to TAT. I submitted 40 book that were delivered on 5/17 in 3 different tiers. Modern, Standard, and Value tier. I received the standard tier last month. I've got no idea what the TAT was at submission for that tier so I'm not sure if it was in the window or not. I called today about the modern order that is at 123 days. I was told it was in process and the TAT was 126 days so it was within the window. I got the standard response that TAT are not guaranteed just estimations. I get that completely I've been submitting for years; however, the TAT was 82 days when the comics were signed for at CGC. I was told the estimated TAT for a current order at CGC is the current TAT as of today????? Huh? I asked the lady to repeat that and she said the same thing. Sooooo if the TAT jumps to 300 days are they just kicking the can down the road and bumping everyone's TAT to the current estimation? Surely she was mistaken, but that's what she said. Customer service is taking a beating at CGC cause of the lack of information for the customer and inconsistency of the information. It seems to me a meeting with the staff is in order to get everyone on the same page. If she is in fact correct and business continues to increase it seems like orders will continue to move forward in TAT and never ship. Its a bit ridiculous.
  13. Can anyone tell me what the stated turnaround time was on 5/17 for modern slow boat no fast pass? Also curious as to what the TAT was for the value tier. I know someone posted a spreadsheet I believe that showed past turnaround times, but I can't seem to find it in previous comments. It won't do me any good whatsoever, but I'm curious. Thanks,
  14. I've been wondering this exact thing for awhile now. I know for a fact that Friday's didn't count as a business day during Con season, but maybe that has changed. Honestly that really changes TAT if you can start counting Friday's as actual days. Interesting....
  15. It’s the first one I’ve ever seen. I had to jump on it when I found it. 😂 cover is awesome. All the super heroes seem to get all the love these days, but I’m a big fan of the not so common.
  16. That's tough, and I would imagine it will have a tremendous ripple effect in the community as a whole.
  17. That's what I thought. That seems like a negative for the dealers and especially the pressers that are also dealers. I wonder when you factor in the credit and the 10% off from the elite vs. the 15% for dealers is there really a difference between the 2? I know it depends on total number of books submitted, but seems like it is really hurting the dealer accounts that garner business based on the savings they can provide to a customer.
  18. Just curious how do the new changes affect dealers? Are they still getting the 20% discount or is a dealer account now just basically an elite membership?
  19. Can anyone tell me anything about this book. It was an impulse buy cause I’m a sucker for pin-up art and I love the cover. I googled the authors and can’t find much of anything. Any hints?
