Well my hulk 180 has seen much better days. Has cover color loss on right side, pages tan. At least it has the Marvel value stamp. Any input on grade for this lower grade book? Thanks

Question on "File Copy" and Grading
buddy2 replied to buddy2's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
Thanks for the insight. I did not expect it had any special providence since as I understand a file copy is just a book stored by publisher for research purposes, etc. although I think some people relate it to pedigree. Maybe I am wrong but I saw a File Copy and Pedigree as two different thing with books. I understand it is a mid/lower grade book. I just didn't know if having it on there would dramatically bring down the grade more or really didn't have additional affect on grade. I appreciate the input. -
Grade is in -- PGM Forever People 1

@comicginger1789 yes sorry, I see what you mean. The book is not discolored it must have been the lighting. -
I hope this is the correct forum to post this question. If not, I apologize in advance. I have a question regarding a Wendy Parker comic I bought many years ago. It was sold to me as a "File Copy" and has a stapled piece of paper at top of cover (see pics below) that denotes it is a file copy. My question is how should this taken into account when grading a comic? Is it considered a defect? Is it just noted and not considered as part of the grade? Any help in understanding others ideas/approach on how to grade a comic something like this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your insight and expertise.

A nice ( I believe) Forever People. No real issues I can see. OW Pages. No spine stress. Any input/ideas on what the grade would be? thanks

I think this New Gods looks nice. Tight staples, good gloss. W/OW pages. Don't see any spine stress. No other issues I can see except for the stamp. Thoughts on Grade? Thank you

Thank you for your help on this book. I bought this one a while ago. It has some spine tears, a tear/small piece out on top; Pages are light tan; there is a small tear on back cover. Any ideas on the potential grade?

Thanks for your help in advance. My hulk has a tear near the staple; some creasing on right side and at bottom. on the inside cover there appears once something was stuck/removed that hurt the ad page. Pages appear to be off-white. Back cover is complete. Input/ideas on the grade for this one?

Thank you in advance for assistance in determining a grade for my Human Torch 32. Book presents well, I believe; Appears to still have a little gloss but there is a staple pull on the bottom, top staple attached; a small piece missing from bottom. Pages are off white, I believe. Back cover is nice but a little dirty. I am not sure of grade for this one since not sure how badly the staple pull and piece missing hurts the grade therefore I would really appreciate your opinions on the potential grade. I have never used pressing service so not sure if a pressing would help grade, do you think it would help? Thanks Again for your help.

Hi, I am trying to determine what the potential grade is for my X-Men #2. I really don't know what the impact of the piece out in the top right. Interior pages look ok. White/Off-White, I believe. Back cover does have a small tear on top. Any thoughts on the potential grade? I really appreciate any help as I am still learning how to apply the grading guide. Thanks.

Hi, I am trying to determine what the potential grade is of my Avengers #1. It has several crease issues on the cover. A small piece of tape on inside of front cover. Interior pages look ok. Back cover has a couple of small tear and also has creases. Any thoughts on the potential grade? I really appreciate the help as I am still learning how to apply the grading guide. Thanks.

Hi, I would appreciate help in determining a grade for the FF#48. I am still learning the "art" of grading and would like to see if I'm close. One of my favorite comics of all time. Jack Kirby is the "King". IMHO. It has a few issues on cover including a crease (possibly a subscription crease?) on left side length of comic. Spine has some stress marks. Date stamp on cover. Still has some cover gloss. Back cover looks fairly good. Interior pages appear to be white-off white. Not sure if pressing might help grade. I really appreciate your time, knowledge and help.
