Now the question is do I take my verified cbcs books and cgc qualified, and get them jsa “authenticated” and regraded? Anyone with a guess on label color they will use?

Man... a #1 CGC 8.0 just went for $988 (auction) on eBay ... are the prices dropping big time for us? I was about to bid but got called away. I would have went over $1000 for sure.

Looks like the #1 9.6 didi't get a single bid.... hmm. I'm surprised honestly but trying to sell right after Xmas is not the best idea? Are we seeing downward pressure on our collection values?

Yea I looked at more of the 9.6 recent sales and think I overshot with my $10k estimate. Maybe $7-$8k?

Heads up… a recently graded #1 9.6 just went up for auction (not buy it now) on eBay this morning. Appears to be graded recently on 12/6/2023. I’m not bidding on it (still recovering from my 9.8 win) but guessing it will go for around $10k. Thoughts?

In the latest interview Jeff says he has 2 boxes left of the original Thorn books. “I might have 30 of them left. I’m very careful on how I let them out into the world.”

Interview quote from Jeff regarding Thorn and doing a kickstarter “Man those comics… nobody wants to see those. Those were just me kind of figuring out what my comic was. I was really reluctant to do it.”

Ah makes sense for the lower value then. I thought these were all ungraded as cgc won’t recognize them anymore. I would guess that the 5 on kickstarter are in decent condition but probably not mint.

Not sure how I missed this but I definitely would have been in there bidding! Really bummed out on a side note glad I didn’t pull the trigger on a $10k copy via kickstarted.

100% agreed! A few of the books definitely suffer from issues that pressing could help minimize. Unfortunately, as we all know with this book, the dark front cover and full black back cover makes color breaks and spine stress easy to see (which pressing obviously does nothing for).

Thought the folks here would appreciate this picture of my ever growing issue #1 collection. Going to send a few of these in for pressing and regrade.

Imagine how pissed you’d be if you went through the efforts to get it witnessed and then CGC said they wouldn’t encapsulate it. anyone have a guess how much the #1 9.8 on will ultimately go for in this current HA auction? Anyone here bidding?

One of my favorite items I have Bone #2 9.8 SS. Out of the 14 9.8’s in the registry it is the only SS! I got it witnessed last year at SDCC. Also that day I got 3 other copies of #1 signed. 1 was raw and two were 9.0’s that I cracked. One came back a 9.4! And the raw got an 8.5 and the other 9.0 came back a 8.5 :/ Still on the hunt for a #1 9.8
