I got this to upgrade the 7.5 that I bought raw 23ish years ago. Now I have to find something to do with the other copy

@Ahsoka Tano Jedi Apprentice Here it is. Once upon a time I alluded to this book in someone's PGM post. Back now, and not looking up where we talked about it

his first professional work
CGC advertised his signing mentioning this one as his first. Not sure why they don't label it. Checks out with some other databases. I have 2 more raw copies since I had to buy a few to get a gradable one. Lucky for me, it's still not much more than a cover price investment. Lots of low grade & overgraded books on the market though

nice one !
decent key worth near a couple hundred or so !!
Yip. I bought a complete run circa 2000 for $200 give or take a few $$$. I've long since forgotten exactly how much, but they're all high grade. So far, a 9.2 #1, 9.4 #2, 9.2 #42 newsstand. Those 3 cover the original investment several times over. It was a good time to buy Star Wars comics

only inked the interiors
you're right of course. I should have re-checked. Since the pencils are the same for cover & interior, Marie became the cover inker in my brain too.

@grendelbo where does this come on your Marie cover power rankings?

I like the gold signature. Very happy as the spine edge had a little white from the fold

sweet signature and placement
In my short time getting books signed, I've learned the artists (not the writers) have good instincts about what looks good on a cover

This is one I've cited several times on PGM posts. It's how I learned how much CGC hates stains b/c the book presents at >9.0. There's a small stain on the top of the front cover (it took me a while to find it), and then a light water stain along the bottom of the back edge. Had no idea when I submitted it how hard they'd come down on the latter.

"Manufactured without staples"

9.0—no notes

The dreaded stain penalty. The only possibility I see is around the price box corner. I'm squinting to figure it out

I was *crazy* about the Star Wars action figures
Same. Marvel knows how to sucker a guy into buying variant covers based on nostalgia. I'm old enough that I got the first gen characters when they came out for all 3 movies (even tho I was a little young for Episode IV). I've got them all sitting in my basement along with a fair number of vehicles & playsets.

Submitted to George Pérez signing, but never got signed. Thanks GP & RIP

Actually, the cover is reprinted from the back cover of Marvelmania 3. More on this in 6-12 months.
