  1. I'll admit though. Batman 1 might be the first ever gay pride cover! The way they look longingly at each other. It can be scary.
  2. no way you could be a collector of comics and not pick bat 1. now if your a seller of comics thats another story. unless of course you just hate batman Batman 1
  3. I'm hoping to put together (eventually) ALL Batman titles. So, God willing, I won't be selling it.
  4. I think it's the only pre-Robin with Batman smiling on the cover. These are getting expensive. The CGC .5 Incomplete was over $600.00. I think until things get better financially, this and the 37 will be my only pre-Robins.
  5. Here's the Detective Comics 36 that I have. This scan in much better than the one that I posted earlier. It's a beater, but it is mine. I'll more than likely have this one restored. I have the missing page.
  6. I'd have to go with All Star 1. I get worried when a book has brittle pages. Even in a CGC holder.
  7. Detective Comics 37, Coverless http://boards.collectors-society.com/sho...e=0#Post1457849
  8. We might not be able to do this with all books, but major keys, we could start a thread that everyone who has one could post it and of sellers who have one and total them that way. It is a huge undertaking, but could be a little more accurate. What do you think of starting a Who Has Action 1 Thread? It's one that most people would want to know how many are out there. The only problem I see with this is that if I had one (I don't) I''m not sure about letting everyone know about it.
  9. No contest here at all. Action #1 well this thread is going to die out soon if there are too many "no contests", as the whole point is to compare 2 very comparable books so they can be judged with split decisions as to which would be a better choice and why. I think this is a lot closer as to what I'm trying to do here with this thread.....this a real toss up for me / both sold for around $15k.....which would you choose? (I think I'd have to go with ol' Cap Marvel) ...or DETECTIVE COMICS 37. It's the last one before Robin, the *spoon*-Erotic Wonder!
  10. I know what you mean. I sold a Detective Comics 34 Coverless/Missing centerfold on eBay for $150.00 when a few months ago one sold for $350.00. You never know with eBay.
  11. Nice set of early Detectives. Working on one myself but I don't think they'll be as nice as yours.
  12. That is my favorite Batman cover ever. Unfortunately, I can't afford one now. But I am saving to get one.
  13. I've finally got photobucket set up so here are my two pre-robins. The 37 was posted earlier by the previous owner and the 36 is the picture from teh eBay auction. As a Christmas present, my father and I split the cost of it. So, it's mine, but not until December 25. I have owned and regret parting with Detective Comics 30 GD+ (tape down spine) and Detective Comics 35 VG+ (moderate amateur restoration).
  14. Don't feel bad. I have 34, & 37 and the highest grade is a FAIR. I also have a 30 (GD+ tape down spine) on layaway, but that's going to take a little while to get that one out.
  15. Are you trying to get ALL copies of that book?
  16. I agree. It looks more like it as restored by a 10 year old. Why does his man have chest hair? Did they look at a picture of the cover while doing this?
  17. Here's one of my favorites. I'm surprised that it didn't show up yet.
  18. How much would you want for the Detective 29?
  19. Here's my Detective 37. I think it is the same as one up there earlier but with the wrong back cover attached to it.
