  1. That seems like a good candidate to me... Here is a link to take a look at that cover and see if it looks familiar. Just click on #5 to see a representation of the cover. https://comicbookrealm.com/series/13397/0/crestwood-publishing-co-black-magic-vol-7
  2. I just accidentally picked up the Modern reprint of Attack! #13 in an eBay lot and spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out what the heck I was looking at ...I should have known that somewhere here I could find an answer - thanks for the history lesson boardies!
  3. As someone mentioned earlier - definitely a drop shipper. Could be an honest n00b mistake. (If his drop ship company is based in the US, he could be incorrectly assuming that is the shipping location.) I would send him a note letting him know that the item isn't shipping out of the US as stated and see how he responds, but don't leave neutral or negative until the seller has an opportunity to explain.
  4. I grabbed a 35 issue 'lot' of Dr. Strange comics from an auction house with only the photos to go on because I saw #1 peeking out from the back of the pile - once they arrived I was happy to see that it included solid copies of 1-8 and #1-#3 were all actually MJI copies...not a bad for about $25 complete. 20191121_070620 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr
  5. I think that the best you would hope for is filler issues from desirable titles...the worst? It can get bad.
  6. Okay all - thanks for taking a look at my ASM129 and GICombat91 from earlier - the third and final candidate to send in is this Silver Surfer #3 I am really uncertain how to handle this book from a grading perspective. It was obviously stored at the bottom of a heavy stack of something. (Bottom of the spine appears to be crushed.) I am also not certain if this issue would receive any help from being pressed Thanks for looking! 20191113_072402 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191113_072413 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191113_072440 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191113_072505 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191113_072510 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191113_072528 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191113_072522 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr
  7. I buy a comic because I sort of want to actually hold it and turn it around in my hands and ...you know see it. I think I'll just keep investing in books that I can afford and display.
  8. Chromium Age isn't a bad moniker - ( I've always went with 'Fools Gold'en Age )...I'm assuming that the next age after should be referred to as the Variant Age?
  9. Here is my next candidate - It has a bit of a roll (though not nearly as bad as many of the others that I saved from the wild at that time - the original owner had his comics stored for 40 years naked on a shelf in a stack. Some of the ASM issues that were near the bottom were so bad that the staples were a solid 1/4 inch onto the top of the book.) So I am sure that a press would help, but I really don't know how much. Looking forward to hearing everyone's opinion and thanks for taking a look! 20191109_065450 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191109_065539 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191109_065605 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191109_065508 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191109_065501 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191109_065526 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191109_065521 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr
  10. I am considering entombing some of my books for the first time to see how I emotionally react. So hopefully y'all don't mind me bouncing a few of the contenders around here over the next few weeks until I decide which I want to send it. Unfortunately my back cover photo didn't turn out so it is not included - The back is in similar condition to the front cover minus the creases in the bottom right. The upper staple is loosening 20191108_063843 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191108_063914 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191108_063931 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191108_063904 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191108_063924 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr 20191108_063953 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr Thanks for taking a look!
  11. Hi all! I love the hunt and really enjoy all these stories - They give us hope to keep scouring the wild for great books that have lost their way Here is my most recent entry - Garage sale (actually a barn sale if you believe that) Nabbed these for $25 - Certainly can't complain 20191107_062242 by Stephen Gardner, on Flickr
  12. Hi all - My name is Stephen and I am basically a Marvel guy with a focus on X-Men and related titles and pretty much anything with a cover price less than $1.00. I spend a lot of my collecting time at auctions, garage sales & flea markets so I LOVE the hunt and am looking forward to interacting with the Post Your Finds featured post (hopefully) with regularity!
