  1. I will definitely press, it has the back cover crease from the poly bag but I do think it will press out.
  2. I would pretty much be thrilled if it came back a 9.4. Hoping to send it in soon, at this point its worth grading regardless of being a bit flawed.
  3. I think I agree and I’ll probably leave this one raw.
  4. Sorry for the newb question, I couldn’t find the answer on the forums. If I want to send multiple books to CGC but only want some of them pressed, can I include them in the same shipment with books I don’t want pressed?
  5. That’s what I’m thinking. Hoping to maybe squeak out a 9 with a clean and press.
  6. For the sake of simplicity, I’m just going to post a pic of the 1 major defect I can spot on this book, a nasty spine crease just under the Marvel logo. The rest of the book looks as sharp as a 9.6+. How much do you think this will lower it?
  7. I’m going to say 6-6.5 but might see significant improvement with a good press.
  8. To me looks like some spine ticks in the middle area and a tiny color breaking crease in the top right corner, not sure what this book might pull with a press.
  9. I really can’t speak highly enough about their response to mine so its hard to complain. That one is rough though!
  10. I get it. I got the two copies of Ultimate Fallout 4 on a ridiculously low price at a comic show last summer and I do wish the cleaner book wasn’t signed for grading purposes, but still a great purchase and probably my best “score” ever.
  11. Qualified meaning green label? I have heard I can request a blue label and the autograph will just lower the grade but i think I would prefer the higher grade with a green label. At the very least it would be unique, I haven’t seen any green labels of the book on eBay.
  12. Thanks. I may leave it raw if that’s the case. I have another really clean copy but it’s autographed by Sara Pichelli. I might still send it in and just take the green label.
  13. I don’t need a grade for the whole book, but just curious how much you think that nasty spine tick on the upper left might lower the grade on its own? And would a press help this at all?
  14. CGC got back to me the next day and are going to re-slab at no cost to me. They handled it absolutely great and very quickly. I am sending it out today.
  15. Thank you for this. I reached out to CGC through their “contact us” function on the site but if I don’t get a response for some reason, I will use the email address in the thread. It is nice to know that this issue has popped up before and they take care of it. I know I’m being a tad picky but we are collectors after all...that hair being there will slowly drive me mad. Thanks again!
  16. I just contacted CGC so I’ll wait to hear back what they say and post here.
  17. As far as I can tell, there is no way to access it, but I also don’t want to pry anything open. I’m thinking of contacting CGC about it. I’m hoping it doesn’t complicate matters that I submitted it through my LCS and not through my own account. It would also be disappointing if they wanted me to pay for all the shipping costs involved.
  18. I would be curious to know just how much lower the score would be with that “defect.” I do believe that with a press the book is a 9.6-9.8 candidate if the sig wasn’t there.
  19. https://imgur.com/gallery/3Y8h2Cz So as the title states, my ASM 361 came back from CGC with a hair in the case. Picture in the link. Anyone have any experience with this? There doesn’t seem to be any area at all where I might be able to fish it out. Would CGC fix this for me?
  20. Can you elaborate? Do you mean I can ask CGC for the blue label but then the signature would just lower the grade?
  21. That’s certainly an option but like most of the community, I really prefer CGC, and since these are CGC boards, I was avoiding that option altogether. Really just curious on opinions on grading it with the green label CGC or leaving it raw.
  22. Long story short, last year I bought a very nice copy of Ultimate Fallout 4 at a comic book show at a very low price. My guess is that with a press I would probably get at least a 9.4 or 9.6. I will never assume a 9.8. However, the book is signed by artist Sara Pichelli. I did not personally get the auto, so it doesn’t hold any personal value to me, and of course was not witnessed by CGC. I’m looking for opinions on if you all would grade the book, knowing that it will come back with a green label? I can’t find any previous green label sales of the book on eBay to compare to. From a pure monetary standpoint, am I just better off keeping it raw? Right now I’m leaning towards grading it just to preserve the condition, and I figure it likely wouldn’t end up being worth any less than just keeping it raw. Appreciate any opinions from other collectors on this and what you would personally do. Thanks!
  23. I’ve never submitted to CGC myself, and am considering doing so with a few books. Two questions: Is it crazy to submit a book without getting it pressed? I want to submit a couple of moderns that look great to my eye, but I’ve heard some people say it’s crazy to get a book graded without pressing also. Do people have any luck getting back 9.8’s without pressing? For those of you that submit books, how many books do you generally wait to submit at once? I was thinking of sending when I had about 5 I wanted to grade to save on shipping, but should I aim to send more?
  24. I would imagine prices on most of the popular ones come down if there is a flood in the market of people trying to sell them. Hopefully that’s not the case and people are adding these to their personal collection for a while. For me, it just seems more fun to find my own raw copy, send it in, wait for the results, etc than to just buy it on eBay. If your only concern is absolute minimum cost I get it but for me it’s about the fun of the hunt and submitting, it almost feels like rolling the dice a bit.
