Well, that's not all that bad based on the TATs back then? Up until extremely recently it was perpetually floating in the 250-260 quoted TAT. 260 business days is 52 weeks give or take for holidays, and 52/weeks per year so sounds like they're still on track, eh?

No new magazine orders should even be accepted at this time until orders are caught up. I have a Standard order (since January) currently just sitting around in the sunshine state, and I guarantee you 18 days from now they will still be sitting there. In fact, I was told they are currently still working on last years orders....

    Standard since Dec. myself..

I wouldn't say they shouldn't accept new orders, but they definitely shouldn't cut the TATs like they have until they're caught up imo.

Looks like TAT for Standard Magazine subs are down to 25 business days. Anyone have books in this tier at CGC? My books were received/SFG on 12/07/22 and I am approaching close to 90 business days. The status changed to GEI a few weeks ago, but no movement since.

I have a standard submission stuck in GEI limbo as well.. 15 books.. called customer service and they said they were graded on March 30th... but haven't been slabbed yet.. kinda BS/bordering in crookery to lower the TAT when books thatve been there, and are past the previously quoted times, are stuck...

In Nicks case of submitting 39 copies of Raphael and having the grading fees taken out but delaying the turnover time for him to get his products back to sell and recoup capital and make a livelihood is terrible.

Could you rephrase/elaborate? I'm having trouble following..

Yes though it does suck , my standard tier that I paid more than 750 extra for somehow is further behind in the process than my modern tier... like w..t..literal...f....

I just keep staring at my 1 Mag G/E/I since 12/1/22. So much for paying extra money to speed up that submission!

What tier did you use? What day did they arrive? Curious so I can compare to mine haha

    Hello Nick,

The slab parts are in. A slab consists of 5 different pieces ( two outer hard case parts, two inner soft case parts, and the label). These are put together during the encapsulation process to seal each book inside. They can not be put together until the book has arrived at encapsulation. Think of a Russian Nesting Doll. So to answer your question... Both :). Sorry for any confusion this caused! Let us know if you have any other questions.

Does that mean grading has resumed on magazines??

I sent some games, they arrived at CGC on Monday, graded and shipped out today.

However, they either were damaged in shipping, or just graded harshly. All moderns, some I had purchased in the last year or so, and they were perfect when they left, not so much now. 9.4 and 9.6 seem like crappy grades to me for modern games, I have received 9.8's on older games, will see when they get here.

So be careful what you wish for, maybe slower is better. (shrug)

Eh, just like with comics, a game can come straight off the conveyer belt freshly made and be sent in immediately and still not get a 9.8. Have you done a lot of research on all the nitpicky subtle nuances that make up the minor differences? I have with comics, but idk in regards to games just yet.. however after a dozen or so submissions I no longer allow myself to be disillusioned as to think any book, or other graded item, will come back 9.8 or higher. Aside from the objective qualifications for the grade, sad to say but it really could boil down to someone having not gotten laid the night before, perhaps they suck at that game and everyone on discord made fun of em so boom automatic point deduction.. while mess like that isn't SUPPOSED to happen, they are just humans after all, any little thing can alter their perception that day..

My book arrived last February- I had no clue this was coming with the case-thing— I would’ve opted for the old case knowing what I was signing up for.

guess I’m a bit concerned being a part of the experimental group with the new case.  Hopin for the best though 👍🏻

Right?!... Why tf are my books involuntarily forced to be guinea pigs for the new slab roll-out.. what happens if there's issues? Are our books beta testers.. n they're more or less troubleshooting any kinks w the current stock they've got their slow hands on?..

Hello, the Magazine parts are in, and we will begin the production on the Magazine submission as soon as possible. You should see these start to move forward shortly.

As in the parts to make the slabs are in, or the slabs themselves?

They are waiting for the new holders to arrive, no magazines will be slabbed until they do, they will be graded awaiting the new holders.

I totally understand that period period what I'm confused about is why the modern tier got bumped to the next phase in the grading process While my standard tier, the one I paid $50 more per book on, is still scheduled for grading. I just got off the phone with CGC they said they're going to expedite my standard tier And push it ahead of the line or some s***. We'll see.

One week already, don't want to be the guy that said "told you so" but!

I'm officially sick to my stomach.. So of the 2 magazine submissions I made in December, one was just your regular ol' Modern Tier, the other Standard.. the Standard had 15 copies of Raphael 1, Modern had 14. Both received on 29th of Dec. I split it like that so I could in theory get the Standard sub back in the 50 day TAT that was quoted at the time, and since I have no intention of flooding the market didn't mind waiting the 250+ TAT for Modern.. The $50ish extra per book seemed a reasonable tradeoff for getting the books back faster, as time is money, but lo n behold we come to today..I have been checking my CGC status every day… no movement until today.. The group of rafael number one's that I didn't pay an extra $50 per book to have graded faster is in G.E.I. now.. while the ones that I paid an arm and a leg for are still stuck..

  13. So I have 2 magazine submissions currently at CGC. 1 has 15 copies if Raphael #1 1985 Micro Series, the other has 14 copies of same book.

On the 15 book submission I sent it in as Standard, and paid the roughly $50 extra per book to ensure it have that fast TAT than the 250ish quoted days. Both have been stuck in scheduled for grading, until today, when I noticed the regular magazine tier was in the grading/encapsulation process but the Standard Submission. Which I paid $750 more to send because it's supposed to be the faster option has no movement!! Can someone please explain this to me?!Screenshot_20230214-095455_Chrome.thumb.jpg.fb1d16ab296110e5567173e9901ecbb3.jpg

Hello @Nick Berntson, thank you for contacting CGC. This should have been notated if the signatures are on the cover or the first page. If the signatures are on any other page, we do not notate them. With that said, it sounds like these signatures may have been missed during grading. Typically the graders do look through the pages to verify your book. but it's possible that the signatures were missed or there may have been a potential software error on our side that removed the signatures notation. We're very sorry for this notation being missed though! Should you decide to send it back to us, please let us know via email and we'll be happy to send you instructions on how to send the book in for "Mechanical Error". Thank you!

Both of the signatures were on the 1st page near the CC info like most interior signed books.

I understand non-witnessed books don't get verified. However I would have at least settled w non-verified signatures at least if they were noted either on header, albeit qualified, or the notes. However since they weren't I've now cracked the book, and will be sending it to CBCS to get the sigs authenticated by them. Is there any way to get credit for this book for the error? Took pics of the whole cracking process n aftermath if I need to send as proof..
