The two scenes they are going out of their way to spoiler are...

      Reveal hidden contents

of course the Superman appearance but it not being Henry Cavill and the Marvel Family appearance. Going out of their way to post images from the shows.

    What a nutty motivation!

That's both funny and sad because:

    Spoiler

The entire family is already in the Shazam ongoing, and stores received their shipment of Pedro, Eugene, Freddy, and Darla Funko pops last week, so a lot of people (including myself) were counting on seeing the Shazam family.  Regarding the Supes cameo at the end, it was kind of a hot rumor to begin with, so it's more of a confirmation of a rumor.

Still pretty crappy of those doing it though, but this isn't a well tied in Marvel movie so I guess if that's the worst of the spoilers that isn't too earth shattering.  Even knowing the spoilers doesn't take away from the tone of the movie itself which is what really sets it apart :)

OKAY----I've got a signing next month with Jason Aaron for the re-launch of CONAN at Marvel Comics,  Aaron, who probably hands down writes the BEST version of THOR this side of Walt Simonson, as well as critically acclaimed Southern Bastards, and my all time favorite serialized comic, SCALPED----is doing Conan.

So here's what I have available now, and there will be more soon as I get the images sent to me.  There's a 1/10, 1/25, 1/50, 1/200, 1/500 (I won't be doing that one), plus a bevy of variants.

CONAN #1 (standard cover by Esad Ribic) s/s Jason Aaron - $95

    blue universal $75

no limit on qty for this one---and while I can't promise Esad Ribic on this, if he pops up I'll add him at no additional cost.

  3. AAAAARRRRRR May!

might as well put the plan here where we can find it easily

    January - Nadda

February - TPB Book 4 (Poison)

    March - Nadda

April - The Lazarus Sourcebook, Vol 1: Carlyle (Collection of information, schematics, and other such items designed to further explicate and expand the world of Year X)

May - New Arc starts ( Cull)

May - Hardcover; Lazarus: The Second Collection ( Issues 10 through 21, new map)

I agree with your AAAAARRRRRR comment :pullhair:

Before I had a chance to read it I was informed it had a heckuva cliffhanger and that the next issue wouldn't be out until May. I understand the circumstances why it's being delayed, but it doesn't make me want a new issue any less. Oh well, at least we have some new content coming in the next couple of months

  4. Issue 16 is out today, a stand-alone story with some great first ever internal art by Owen Freeman on top of a side story by Lark. The world building continues to expand and this is one of the most unique single issue comics I've read in a long time. I can't believe it wasn't nominated for the Eisners in any single category.

Agreed! Owen and Eric did an amazing job on the pages they worked on, which add extra depth to the entire story and it simply wouldn't be the same without it. It feels like there are more pages of story content than there actually is because of the amount of detail on each of the digital pages. Quite possibly my favorite issue to date.

  5. So I was looking at the con tshirts for Lazarus, and the one with all of the Lazarii on it had a few we haven't been introduced yet, including the 'unknowns' listed in the family back stories.

The one in the middle of the bottom row is in a futuristic...wheelchair?! Now THAT'S going to be an interesting story

I thought they were all present at the poker game after the Conclave Ball? The wheelchair guy won the game.

    You are correct (thumbs u

*sigh* and this is what happens when working 10-12 hours a day, online school for 2-3 hours a day, and quickly skimming the past few issues does to your brain :boo:

This was a good wake up call that I need to spend more time with my favorite series (thumbs u

  6. My first post on the boards, found these forums through a friend and lurked for a little bit. I just wanted to pitch in since this is my favorite modern book, and the most exciting world-building I've seen since the beginning run of The Walking Dead.

Greg Rucka performs intense research drawing from current geopolitical events, incorporating modern oligarchs and plutocrats as inspirations for the families. His passion shows in every aspect of the book from the custom design ads/backstories to the real world information he shares on the letters page while attempting to further inform the reader. I had the pleasure of meeting him and Michael Lark at their recent signing and after-party in Berkeley, and both guys are not only as down to earth as you can imagine, but also incredibly dedicated and spirited about this story.

To share, here is a commission I received a while back from Michael. This is the first time I commissioned an original piece of art, and it was above all my expectations:

To anyone on the fence, get the Lazarus Volume 1 Hardcover. The amount of additional content makes this a true bargain. Family above all!

Awesome piece, and couldn't have said it better myself! (thumbs u

  7. I have laid my eyes on an advance copy of the HC that comes out next week and it's beeyooteeful! It's organized well, has a texture on part of the cover, and overall just feels...clean.

As far as extras go it has bonus art, comments, more detailed and fluid timeline, and two things that I will probably use as a reference every time I'm reading an issue: maps and full page bio's of each family :cloud9:

  8. Hey all --

    Overall B+ from me.

The writing at the beginning was clunky and forced (one conversation between Coulson and May literally sounded like two people reading a -script), but by the second half it all came together pretty well. Crusher Creel was fun, the theft of the aircraft felt necessary, and the surprising realization that Fitz had *really* lost his mind was nicely done.

Agreed, this was a good episode to start the season off with (thumbs u
