  5. I have a suggestion. It’s a fairly obvious suggestion. If you want to know where your submission is or why it hasn’t moved to the next stage yet, send an email to submissions@cgccomics.com with your order number and be specific about what information you are requesting. CGC Customer Service seems happy to respond to polite requests for these updates within 1-2 business days. I have done this successfully several times. I think this serves two purposes, you get an update on your order AND they get a record of emails requesting statuses for submissions. If they pay attention to the data it might lead to improvements in notification policies for the future.
  6. I put all my polybagged books in a bag and board and stored them with my collection in regular long boxes. Last year I started slabbing books and, since CGC removes the polybag when grading, I decided to open a few of my books so I could grade them and clean and press before sending them to CGC. Not one book was clean and damage free. Some books like X-Force 1 included two trading cards loose in each bag which scratches and dents the covers. The bag seams will dent the entire book vertically. Don’t leave them in the polybag. Save the original bag and any inserts in a separate bag and board with the book but remove it. Here are some pics of what a polybagged comic looks like when removed after 20 years From polybag (A) First pressing (B) Final pressing (C) From polybag (A) First pressing (B) Final pressing (C)
