  1. Pence:  Nice copy.  Absolutely raw.  No retouching or trimming etc at all.

Small stain and damage where price sticker had been.

Pics taken in very strong side light - this has made the creases on the back cover look
much more exaggerated than they are.

Would benefit from a clean and press but this is a really nice copy.

Any serious interest I can do more pics but these show all the wear.

    £600 UK freepost.

Cents:  Nice copy with mild colour retouching on cover creases.  All wear is shown in these pics.

Creases are partial subscription fold + others.  Retouching is pro so creases only properly show if book is held at an angle to direct light like a window etc

No trimming.  Very slightly misaligned top right.

I can take more pics if any serious interest.

Overall a really nice looking book - when bagged looks extremely nice.

I don't know if anyone would agree/disagree but I think for general appearance a similar raw one would probably be around £1000..?

£575 - frree post in UK.

    PayPal "goods and services"
Postage £10 UK - overseas please ask
Returns - would prefer no returns as I am happy to do loads of pics + forensic descriptions including musty smell if any etc etc - I've got 12 years perfect scores on ebay that I can show

Well, 4.0 is an 'average' book, so 5.0 is... better than that! It's basically 'scattered small-to-moderate flaws, but the eye appeal is still there'.

I mean, we enjoy sifting through the details on this forum, but at some point, it's better to stop worrying so much about the number and just enjoy the book.  (thumbsu

Well it matters to me with this one as I'll be selling it and I don't want to whack either myself or the potential buyer.

In the last post I thought 4.5/5.0. I'm more at 5.0 now but Restored with the previously reported color touch.

    Thanks for the update.

Cheers.  No colour touch here this is a different copy.  No resto at all.  What would your unrestored grade be..?  (This is a pence copy whereas the other one was cents.)

    5.0 purple nurple

Not qualified..?  Tiny overall area of colour touch on colour breaks and its more or less invisible.  I saw the book before and after and I was like 'wtf' :)

The colour touch if all squished together would be maybe 5 square mm - something like that.

  6. Slight stain/damage where price label was removed.  Damage is old it didn't happen when the label was lifted.  I think this was prob resold at a second hand bookshop and may have had a couple of labels on and off in the past.  Great cover gloss.  Very clean and quite good whiteness on pages.  I'd presumed it was a cents copy but overall I'm really happy with it.

The stain on the price looks worse on the pics.

Please be aware that comics that come from the UK of that age have, well been about a bit, and the interior may be of lower page quality than a comic from the US with regard to humidity etc. You have many more copies of the same comic to choose from in the US too! Good luck, I hope it's a good 'un when it arrives.

Cheers yeah fair point.  That said I got my ASM6 from here and its amazing.  This 50 I think may have discoloured staples so humidity a definite possibility.

I remember thinking it was a decent enough copy. I recognised it by the sticker. Being honest, as I wasn’t looking to bid on it I didn’t pay a great deal of attention.
knoeing what you paid, plus the buyers tax it’s probably about right. I wouldn’t say you got a bargain but I don’t think you overpaid also.

Cheers indeedy.  Looking at sold prices I hope to make a bit on it once label removed and cleaned and pressed.

I was at the auction as I live nearby so saw the comic in the flesh. I didn’t bid on that but I did on other copies of ASM.

Can you remember if there was still a bit of shine to the cover..?  I noticed it too late on to get a condition report.  Afterwards they told me its G+ but that seems very low.
