  1. I can't go to bed - someone's wrong on the internet
  2. Sure - a few issues but very mild. Very very mild. You're discounting eye appeal..? If you look at the 6.5s I've posted they are more worn than mine - some of them quite a bit. I'm not planning on selling it any time soon so I'm not talking it up but on the other hand I've got OK eyesight
  3. Another 6.5. Slightly less mechanical defects but more aged and faded strip along the bottom.
  4. Here you go a CGC 6.5. Different issues but much more aged with various stains and damage..
  5. Yes mine has the breaks in the same area but only about 20% as many and not as deep. This 14 is also going quite off white. I've seen the whole pic of the 14 and I think they are not comparable. I agree about the slit but its small and unobtrusive. You could argue mine has corner bends etc that count but overall it looks much more appealing. Visual appeal does count. I've seen CGC 6.5s with all sorts of issues including small chunks missing from covers.
  6. Yes understood. All I can say is i've looked and looked at 6.5s and they all have much more apparent defects than this one. Have a look at this one. Of course there are loads to see but I think thats fairly typical 6.5..?
  7. I've had a good look at a lot of CGC 6.5s and I think this beats them. I think its a solid 7. Thats after bearing in mind all your comments.
  8. Thanks. Interesting observations. I agree with the flaws you've pointed out although I think they are very light..? A very superior 6.5 or a standard 7 is what I'd say..? Er - is that logical..?
  9. Wow that much for a pence copy..? I had no idea. If I sell it I'll just grade it myself and take a million pics.
  10. Much appreciated. Can we discuss value here or would that be for a different thread..?
  11. Thanks Foggy. I agreed with about 8 - can you describe what's bringing it down..? cheers
  12. Thank you very much. I think there may be a slight fade at the top of the front..? Possibly the background is a tiny bit lighter..?
  13. Hi guys. Just bought this. Anyone take a punt on the grade..? Inside is very good. No restoration. Thanks in advance for any input.
  14. Sure I understand. I think if its a nice book you could do OK but it might take a long time to sell. I find it surprising that it doesn't seem that widely discussed.
  15. Thanks everyone. The nearest I can see to value reduction is about 25% - do you guys think that's about right..? I quite like the stamps myself if they aren't overly intrusive. I think an otherwise very smart key would do OK..? Here's another point: would this type of stamp devalue less than an actual pence variant..? I think it would..?
  16. Hi all. I'm wondering what sort of effect those purple 'frank' type UK price stamps have on US comics value. In other words a standard US Marvel comic that's been stamped after being printed - NOT the UK pence price variant that was done on the initial print run. If otherwise mint would that kind of stamp reduce a comic to say FN..? Assuming the stamp is in a discrete place and not bang across Spidey's face etc. thanks Mike
