  1. Wow. 66k for the 9.6 #1! 72k for the Turtlemania #1! and the #3 Variant 9.8 went for 9k. Was fun to watch these!
  2. Wow! That painting is so awesome! Love it. Didn't play the Sega game as much as the original NES game. And I had those exact Bebop and Rocksteady action figures back in the day. Great memories!
  3. Edit: Thanks for editing your post and looking out for people.
  4. I wasn't really sure where to post. Sorry to offend. Not exactly the welcome I was hoping for.
  5. Hello! I only recently found this forum. We lost my Dad last year. Dementia is a vicious disease. But I'm here to share our story. My Dad was a comic dealer and went to comic book conventions and shows and was friendly with the creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Eastman and Laird in the 80's. He used to see them at the shows and they'd always chat at each other's tables. Dad had all NM signed first print comics from them, #1-10, many in multiples. He had a lot of Gold, Silver and Bronze stuff as well. I inherited my Dad's collection and am reselling most of it with Comic Connect. But they're difficult to let go of. I grew up with these stories (I was born in 84), but hadn't gone through his comics with him in 30 years+. Growing up and loving TMNT, Marvel, X-Men, etc., it was so cool to go through his collection and see everything he had. Selling these comics is sad, but it is helping my Mom retire. So I am so very grateful. I am keeping some of the TMNT 1st prints... they will always be a connection to my Dad. I miss going to comic shows with Dad and meeting folks that are also passionate about them. What a great online community. Glad to be here. Take care all!
  6. Quick follow up. I googled and found this article which shows a great side by side and the story behind the variant. And explains that the name comes from how the "Laird's Photo" sign is almost all white in the variant and all blue in the regular cover. Pretty cool! Still not sure what it's worth, but I guess I'll find out in a few days. Thanks!
  7. Thanks so much! I should know better and googled first. The description and side by side pictures here in this article make it a lot more clear. If you look at the sign that says "Laird's Photo" one is mostly white (variant) and the other is mostly blue (regular). The story makes sense too. I still have no idea what the ballpark value is, but I guess I'll find out in a few days.

The TMNT #1 CGC 8.5 is up to $14,400 now! I can't believe how much these are worth. I can vouch for the signature, my Dad has been telling me this story my whole life. Selling these comics is sad, but it is helping my Mom retire. So I am so very grateful. I am currently in the #1 club! If anyone else wants to join the club with an 8.5, bidding is up and it's all going to help my Mom retire. I am keeping some of the TMNT 1st prints... they will always be a connection to my Dad. 9. Hello! First time poster on here. I hope this is the right place to post this. I inherited my Dad's collection and am reselling most of it with Comic Connect. The TMNT #1 CGC 8.5 is up to $14,400 now! I can't believe how much these are worth. Part of me is really sad to see them go. Every comic, action figure, movie were simply the best growing up... But this will help my Mom retire, so I am glad Dad is still taking care of her. I think I will keep a few because they mean a lot to me. I'm pretty new to all of this. One quick question if anyone can assist. What is the Variant Cover story with #3? It says "Laird's Photo" in white on cover. I can't see the difference between the regular and variant. And it's hard to figure out what it's really worth. Here's the auction. Any idea what this is worth as a CGC 9.4 variant cover #3? Thanks!
