  1. I just saw Scott Eder recently adjusted the price for one of the few remaining Omaha item on the market that is not in auctions. This one has been in his stock for years.

Can't blame him: he probably saw the recent HA results :

What could been seen on his website in 2023:

... and now, on his Ebay account:

Strangely, this remaining item can't be seen on his webstore:

... so let's hope the eBay listing is not an error.

Yeah maybe.     I see that POV, but on the other hand if the market was 12 year old boys, its not hard to convey gorgeous to them.     Draw a couple balloons on a stick (or whatever passed for that in the 60s) and you're done.

I still love Heck's women nowadays so I suppose I must be (secretly) 73 years old.

It looks a little more dated than average, doesn’t it?   I’d say it was more stylized than most and that’s contributed to the dating in a similar way to how Don Heck Tales of Suspense Iron Man stories look incredibly dated ( he spent a lot of time getting clothes and hairstyles and so on right for the time, which now look kind of ridiculous to modern eyes).

For Heck, romance comics effects IMHO. But that's what's precisely made him, maybe, the right penciler for the beginnings of Iron Man : you believed immediately that Tony Stark was a playboy, dating the most gorgeous women of the time.

It was always edited - I'm not sure why it shows up blank in the preview (still does) but blacked out when you blow it up. hm

Transparency (GIF like) ? It even become grey too, if you zoom in.

This one (pleasantly) surprised me. Having paid a very big price for the JSF cover I bought a couple years ago, I was glad that this one did not bomb.

Oh. The new screenshots are edited now... Come on!

Not for this story. I only know the culprit behind the damage of several (I know at least 6) pages of the Star Hawks strip by Gil Kane, in the same storyline. I see them appear from time to time at auctions.

I can post horror pictures more or less unbearable if someone is interested. I collect them.

Think about how many guys would have to buy this comic just to say their Ditko Spider-man cover collection was complete! LOL could probably sell 5k to them alone!

Well, this variant is not cheap to acquire nowadays :

What I never got is that with all the variant covers that get published these days, why hasn’t someone thought to use one of these classic era unpublished pieces as a variant cover? You don’t think Marvel would love to have an original previously unpublished Ditko cover variant on some key book/product?

They already thought of that :

The chat was eerily quiet during this presentation on DD.

Nice: A.S. pointed out the removal of the decication. However, it's strange he used the original image (with the dedication blured) for the show.

I'm curious: Was the original Ebay sale a great deal? Is the fact this is a vintage Byrne sketch what (theoretically) bumps the (perceived) value?

I didn't realized the sketch was so big... The price is probably a bit too high now IMHO, but it was a huge deal on eBay for guys from my generation (and we're several here, I guess!). I can tell you if I could go back to September and catch it, I would do it on the spot! Even if the dedication had been already deleted at step 1, I would have it put back by a professional restorer.
