This looks waaaay better than mine... on mine, some knucklehead kid (not me LOL) filled in Spidey's eyes on the cover with pen... and mine was a 3.5.

I'll say 5.0. It can't quite get to a Fine Minus... but it's better than a VG Plus IMHO.

Haha! Have a look at my ASM 13 that I recently posted - someone drew on that one too, and it was obviously a kid, or someone very childish!

Whatever the grade, this is a great story.  Wondering how many other copies of AF15 he had available? lol.  Maybe if you could have worked for an extra month... a 3.0 or better would be the subject of this post?

It was only a tiny little comic shop - I really doubt he had other copies of AF15. If only he did have a 3.0!!

I suspect this copy was considered too poor to try to sell at the time ... it was already an important book, but no idea it would become so big.

  3. Thanks FroggyNelson! In the UK, getting this book CGC graded and slabbed would cost me a small fortune.  If the book turns out to be a 1.5, at current market value, that puts it at $12,500 or GBP £9,425. CGC would charge 3.5% of market value to grade and slab it: $437 or GBP £330. I personally would rather buy another great book than spend $437 slabbing this. Batman 7 just sold on ha.com for this amount (as a 1.0). I know which I'd prefer!
