  1. Wishing it was in better condition ... but super happy to have this comic in the collection!
  2. When I was 14 (1984) I went into my local comic shop and told the owner I was collecting Amazing Spiderman, and wanted the worst copy of AF15 possible (it was all a 14 year old could afford, even then!). He told me he had a copy and we agreed I would work in the comic shop to pay the $75 it cost!! Imagine a 14 year old these days getting an AF15! Total garbage ... still my prized comic!
  3. Weirdly - I have no idea how I came to have this book! Stopped collecting 35 years ago as a 15 year old, and was never into Superman! I suspect this was part of a bigger trade deal, and someone older than me convinced me it was a good book to have! It looks like I'm going to become known as the king of the copies!
  4. When I was 15, I just wanted a complete run of ASM 1-33. I achieved it, until some B@£*&%d stole half of them! Still, I've got my ASM-3, and it looks great for a 1.5-2.0 Wait til you see my AF15 and my ASM-1! Appalling condition!
  5. Well ... I was 15 in 1985, and these books were a 'bit' more affordable then! I also bought a bunch of books that never went up in value: Alpha Flight, Marvel Fanfare, Cerebus, etc...
  6. When I was 14, I was into early Spideys. Didn't have lots of money, but I did have a paper round, and washed dishes in a restaurant and worked in a comic shop. Could only afford the worst condition early Spideys! Like this one!
  7. I think I know the results of this PGM based on my recent stained, moldy Golden Age books, but ...
  8. Lovely Weird Fantasy 13, has suffered at some point in the past from moisture, which is a shame as ... well, you can see for yourself. Should I press it? Polish it?
  9. Interesting that some people gave yours a 5.5, and some gave mine a 6.0. Funny to see another copy! Not sure how rare it is, but you don't see many of them. Maybe people don't show them off very often as it's less dramatic than other LB Cole covers. I would give you a grade but I'm so out of touch, I'm hesitant. That's why I'm on here getting my books graded!
  10. One of my better purchases as a 15 year old. Just got this beauty out from the loft (attic) after 35 years!
  11. A 6.0 that looks like an 8.0 is an amazing result! Will repost if I get round to slabbing it. Thanks everyone! I've just pulled this out of the old collection after 35 years. More soon!
  12. Lovely LB Cole cover, don't see many around. Hoping for a decent grade! I think these books have recently started getting hot?
