  1. Consumer confidence index is down. Lot’s of uncertainty in the tech/business sector. Not saying that has an impact on someone spending $30k on a comic book. But perhaps those who may have been bidding 18 months ago felt better about putting that money into the market since it's, as you say, setting new record closes almost daily?
  2. Thanks for the correction, my good sir! I have yet to bid with Comic Connect, so wasn't sure if it was added immediately because the addition of the 15% buyers premium comment is still present in the listing.
  3. Beauty, and white pages! Not sure if I've seen another pedigree of this book...at least not still in the slab. Well done!
  4. Dream book! Auction finished north of $31K, with juice, taxes, shipping etc, you're looking at around $33K to get this it in hand [EDITED to account for 15% buyer premium already included in the $31,165 price]. I did expect this book to reach above $40K...perhaps in a more favorable economic climate, it would have? I should have upgraded my 2.5 already . At least I can take solace in the perception that mine presents nicely for the grade
  5. Awesome grab, love me some Beware #10! But there's some confusion/misinformation about this book being referenced in SOTI. I believe Beware #12 from Youthful's first 1952 run is referenced, and also Beware #6 from Youthful/Trojan's second run in 1953, but not Beware #10 from that second run. I'm open to be corrected on this as I'm not a SOTI expert . Still an awesome book inside and out, classic pre-code horror with a fantastic red dressed Frazetta girl being pulled down into a cold grave by dirty zombies!
  6. I’ve ordered artist books in the past from Amazon and they shipped them in large flimsy boxes with no protection, save for a strip of plastic bag air pockets which did nothing to prevent damage. Upon return with comments to ship with better packaging and more protection, they shipped another dinged up book back to me the exact same way. Glad to hear Amazon is stepping up their shipping methods with these fine art books. But for me, I just as well avoid that headache when I can!
  7. I pre-ordered the Famous First Edition through mycomicshop back on Aug 31st, which is nice that you get a decent discount ($180) by ordering early through the previews catalog. I don't trust Amazon's shoddy shipping, yeah its free but I'm ok paying the $5 mycomicshop charges; they ship in a tank. Been anxiously awaiting the shipping date! Was hoping to have it in hand to coincide with Frank's birthday but, alas, the order was updated this week and it will ship Feb 8th so it will just miss the Feb 9th birth date! That collectors edition is beautiful, got me thinking of ordering it as well 😍
  8. Congratulations on completing the set! What a relief, right? It's a beautiful set, and your 214 is very nice 😍. I completed my set this year, and just as you're looking to upgrade your 215, I'm hungry to upgrade my 214! There's something insatiable about this run...I find it hard to quell the pangs of jealousy I get when I see other collectors' sets. 😂 Its the Frazetta effect! I was the underbidder on your old 214 @Ricksneatstuff, and sad to not have pulled it in! Sorry you had to let those beauties go, but I'm happy that you're replacing them with a new home! Congrats
  9. Bidding is now underway! You have until Monday Oct 10 to place your bid on this fantastic book! See the link below. https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=57201754 Additionally, for those of you interested in the origin of the Justice League of America, up for bid is a JLA #9 (1962) CGC 6.5 OW/W as well! Great book to have in your DC collection! You have until Wednesday Oct 12 to place your bid on this one! https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=57201753 Thanks for looking! Landerian
  10. For those hunting nice presenting low grade classic science fiction cover art by Frank Frazetta, look no further than the MyComicShop.com prime auction! Up for bid starting on October 3rd. Good luck!
  11. Definitely a fair result! I agree with P5, I do like the colors (a deep emerald green color strike and red on the trade dress scores extra on this book 🤤) and overall structure of this copy, but the crease leaves much to be desired in the cover presentation! Following up the 6.0 Frazetta estate copy that ended up at $9K on Heritage in July, the consignor might have hoped for more? 🤔 I’ve always felt 215 should be held among the most desirable copies in the run with 213 and 214. It’s staying strong 💪
  12. While 213 is my favorite, 215 is definitely up there for me too! This year I ponied up and pulled in a beautiful 7.5 via auction...its a stunner in high grade!
  13. And there you have it. Thank you sir for the info! I promise to be better with google next time
  14. I agree, his signature style has that je ne sais quoi? its distinctly Frazetta, trademark that enhances the image! It was marked as pending as of my posting, and marked sold as of 12 hours ago. Not sure on the negotiated price, but definitely sold. The Heritage auction winner had to move it for whatever reason, so congrats to the new owner!
  15. I see that there are late issue Famous Funnies from the Promise Collection Pedigree in an upcoming Heritage auction in September. These were not graded by CGC and only come included with a certificate of authenticity. I'm curious if anyone knows: were the Frank Frazetta FF issues part of the Promise Collection Pedigree? Maybe I just missed it? It stands to reason Heritage would have these graded and auctioned off already if they were included with the collection.
