I haven't been to Hawaii since 1988, but remember buying stuff from Jelly's and Froggies.  Each of those places is gone, but I read that one of the people from Jelly's opened a store in Honolulu called Idea's Music and Books and they carry comics.  I don't know how big the section is, but it might be worth a look if you are in the area.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check that out, too

When I was stationed at Pearl, I used to frequent Other Realms in Honolulu.  It had a good selection of new issues and a decent selection of back issues.

    Thanks, I'll check them out.

I haven't been to Oahu in many years - I went to Jelly's but I think it's now closed or converted to a different store type.

Thanks, I did try to look them up but it looks way different now (and on facebook)

I know there is a great shop in Maui when I was there 5 years ago.   If you will visit that island

Actually, I will be traveling there as well - whats the name of the place?

  5. Hello, I haven't been to a LCS in Hawaii (Oahu) for over 35 years.  I remember going to Strawberry Fields Forever and Aldemar (?) back in those days.  What's the LCS scene like these days?

I will be returning for a couple of weeks later this month and will slowly start moving my collection of 30 short boxes and it'd be nice to know where I can go if I need anything.

I went through most of my boxes remotely with the help of my folks but there are still 8 short boxes left to go through.  I know I have a run of CA, DD, G.I. Joe there and some Hulks in those boxes - it'll be exciting to see what I have as I don't remember after all these years.  Can't wait to go back!

  6. I bought some old duck books recently from Gene.  He was very easy to work with and the books arrived quickly and in great shape.  His sales threads typically have books that I don't see very often and are very reasonably priced as well.  I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again.  Thanks, Gene!
