  1. Thats what I was trying to figure out. Weather or not it would change anything in a major way. I have some old Comics some kid wrote a name or numbers on with a pen way back. I was not to worried on those. Kinda gives them real life character regardless if it affects the final grade. Thank You Both.
  2. I have a few questions before I send this first set of 10 comics in. I have some comics that are signed. I was there when some were signed, a few others I bought signed trusting the seller. No cert card, picture with say the Artist, or anything like that. Should I send those comics in as a separate group vs doing it with unsigned books? I know there is a signature series. I have not seen a Verify signature choice, unless its the Pedigree box that needs checked. Most of these are not verifiable except by doing a signature comparison. Or, are they more a keep sake with a signature since I can not verify them? I just don't want to spend the money and mix one or two (unverified) signed books in with a basic grading order. Mess up how I was suppose to initially submit them with a signature. My last question, If it has a signature that turns out to not be legit, do you still slab them on a small order?
  3. I finally decided to start getting some of my better comics graded vs buying graded books. With that said, I have been ripped a few times with the old cases. Some people were good at popping them open. Throw a 8.5 or 9 book in it and sell it as the 9.6. It was obvious when I received it something was wrong. Then I learned from the guy at the Vintage store what some people were doing. Send the good book in and get a 9.6 grade with a new slab. These new cases are supposedly harder to do that with.
  4. I have a quick question. Only need a few basic replies and I should be good. I have purchased a lot of Graded comics over the years. I have purchased a few that were graded restoration ones. I myself have never had an account with CGC until it was a birthday gift from a family member. My question: If I mail in a book thats older with issues and I have it cleaned, maybe an 8 up front. Does the comic get a higher grade and does it came back listed as restored? I would like to keep the lovingly read look from years ago but, lift some of the grime and misc stuff off. If that makes sense.
