  1. It's certainly possible it's the fault of the LCS owner. BUT...this issue is happening with other people's books also so I'm thinking it's something with CGC. .
  2. Yup every story I've heard of others it has always been a crushed corner. It's so hard to believe because my second damaged package happened three months after my first. How is it possible they cannot have become aware of this problem and fixed the issue during this time?? It just goes on and on...and they keep promoting CGC as this great company????
  3. I just received a batch back of 80 books I submitted in June. Almost all of them have fresh new damage in the corner; like a box was dropped! My last batch of 35 or so came back with all new damage in a different corner several months ago. After I resubmitted these to be pressed and regraded CGC at their cost they managed to forget to do about half the books. Still waiting on books I submitted originally back in March. I submitted through my LCS owner. He has had this happen with several batches of his books besides my own. Is this all they do at CGC? Destroy books and then just ignore when they come back? Is it really the fault of my LCS owner? I just can't believe this is (or was) the most trusted name in the business! Waiting six months to get books back and finding them destroyed and worthless? If anyone cares to read my story just dig up my old threads. Uggghhhhhhhh!!!! .
  4. I submitted 36 books back in March and they came back 4 months later damaged all in the same place (if anyone really loves details just go look at my posts). They agreed it was their fault and agreed to press, clean and regrade. It was divided into 2 shipments. The first shipment comes back and out of 16 books there were 8 comics they never even opened! Verifired by Checking Their Grading date. Still have the same damage. After months they agreed to take those 8 back and fix them; I'm still waiting on those. Another 11, just came back. Out of 11 they only pressed and regraded 3 of them! Of course, those 3 all came back 9.8. Once again, 8 (different than the above 8) of them come back unopened! They still have the same damage! Each time I just can't believe their incompetence and it just continues to get worse! What the heck is going on there???!!!!!
  5. I put up some new books this week on Ebay. Nothing spectacular. But...it seems that views are pretty low. Is the market taking a downturn? Or is it that now only the super-hot books are getting maximum views and maximum dollar? What y'all think? What's been your experience as of late? Thanks.
  6. Maybe there's some dude that doesn't have a very good grip on his left side and always drops them a certain way? Or perhaps it has something to do with part of their "assembly line?"
  7. It could have but it's doubtful. CGC rejects boxes with "visible" damage - of course, this isn't foolproof. Definitely dropped somewhere along the line.
  8. They were untouched. The ones that were pressed all came back with better grades, but most still had some level of damage.
  9. No the grades did not change on the one's that weren't opened.
  10. A little while ago I received a batch of comics back from CGC with all-new defects in the exact same place on every book.. CGC admitted their wrong-doing and agreed to press and regrade. I just got back the first batch of 24 comics that were supposed to be taken care of. Lo and behold, 8 of the comics were NOT even opened, let alone pressed and regraded; I verified this by looking at when the comics were graded! What is going on there?! My LCS owner just got a batch back of comics with new damage! What's the point of having perfect comics to be graded if, it's a flip-of-a-coin if they come back damaged? Losing all faith in their services.
  11. If flea markets are a waste of time are there better alternatives? Storage auctions? Garage sales? Estate sales? ??
  12. I was just searching online for flea markets and such to hunt for books and I came across this: Frank and Son Collectible Show open 3 days/week in Industry, CA (Los Angeles area). Looks like a flea market type thing. The first thing they list is having vendors that sell comic books. Anybody been here before? Wondering if it's worth a trip? Or any other great sources in L.A. area? Thanks
  13. I did indeed ask that when I spoke to my Ebay rep. It's been 2 days and haven't heard anything yet.....
  14. Which one do you sell the most on?
  15. In my other thread (Another Ebay Scam) I detailed how a buyer tried to squeeze me to give me him some money back and I canceled his order before it shipped. Well...The story continues and I think it's worthy of a new thread. -------- The "next" person I sold it to, received the book, waited 2 days, and then told me how he just saw a small defect on the book that supposedly knocked it out of the 9.6 grade assigned by CGC. He said he wanted $40.00 back. The "first" buyer wanted $45.50 back. Not wanting to go through the hassle of a return and then having it come back with "all new defects" (I've had this happen) I simply gave the "new" buyer his partial refund.. Only after, only after, I did this did I see that buyer 1 and buyer 2 were the exact same person!! Ebay has quite a flaw in that you can't see the buyer's name until it's shipped. Uggghhhh!! I called Ebay and then said they'll look into it. Good Lord the hoops these scammers will go through! This happened to you?
  16. Where is a better place to sell?
  17. creativecollectibles4u, 1collectibles4u. They're the same person! Scott McKirgan. I'm sure he goes by some other names too!
  18. Update! Well the Scammer won! I thought there was something weird when my ROM sold in mere minutes after cancelling the first order. So the "next" person gets it, says there's a defect and wants $40 refund! I knew something was off when both sellers had very similar handles and the same first name. I sent the refund because I didn't want to go through the hassle of a return and it being damaged. He won! Now I see they are in fact the very same person! I wish Ebay had a function where I could've seen the name before! Scott McKirgan is his name. How many Ebay handles does he have??
  19. There is quite a lot of that. But, where else are you going to find a pilot?
  20. I've followed a lot of sellers with high starting prices. I've done some myself also. A lot of times they get no offers while a Buy It Now for the same item at a higher price will sell. I've noticed this quite a bit. I think auctions that start at .99 do better, overall, than the ones with a high start price. Of course, I think, Buy It Now is usually the best way to go.
  21. I've noticed that CERTAIN sellers do very well selling things at auction. I tried some .99 starting auctions and none of mine performed as well as Buy It Now would have. But, of course, there are a lot of variables. But, I believe, overall Buy It Now does better in most situations.
