I don't have all of my books back, but of the 20 I have received only 4 came back with the full name signature

Just curious - would like to know from anyone willing to respond:

    1.  How many books did you send in for TM to sign?

    2.  How many came back with full name "Todd McFarlane" signature vs how many came back with "T. McFarlane" ?

i swnt in 14 books over 2 submissions.  The first submission was 3 graded books that were part of the December session.

IH 340 , ASM 300, and Spawn Batman.  All were T McFarlane.

2nd  submission all raw.  11 books

Spawn 1, Spawn 9, Spawn 311 (boseman sketch variant) , Batman 423, Asm 311, 315, 316, 317,  spiderman 1 (silver, gold, and green ).  Only Spawn 311, asm 315, Batman 423 and spiderman 1 silver all were Todd McFarlane, the rest T. McFarlane.   I didn't make any special requests outside of placement and ink colors.  To be fair, he ignored those requests for Spawn 311 and the end result was much better than what I had asked for.  So 4 out of 14.  The one that puzzled me was ASM 315.  That cover is so busy, that would have been the last I would have expected a full signature on.

At SDCC this year I saw him each day to get autographs etc -- it was super easy - just had a long line, even if a ticketed event it was easy to get tickets.   He's a great guy in-person too -- he knows he's considered a rock-star but he does his best to make every fan interaction genuine.  Super nice guy.   I wish they were all like him.

I first saw him at a Mid Ohio con in Fall of 1988.  He has not changed.  The line was long that day, and I would kind of step to the side to see what was taking so long at the front.  Todd was taking the time with each fan to ask how they were doing, if they were enjoying themselves.  This was shortly after his start on ASM.  He was obviously enjoying himself, kidding around with the person  who was seated next to him  (Keith Giffen, iirc).  It made the wait in the line a lot more tolerable.

Compare that to Jon Byrne at the same convention.  He obviously didn't wat to be there.  Next, get the book signed, Next.  Two very different experiences for the fans.

  3. I received the email on March 12th.  I sent out my reply with instructions on March 15th.  I have still not received any sort of confirmation that they received my reply.  I resent my reply on Friday April 1st.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with the in house signing events to this point.  So I guess I was due.  The longer this goes on though, it will definitely overshadow the positive experiences.

  4. Based on previous signings, each one would have to have a separate invoice.  If you had two books say for Bagley alone they could be on the same invoice.  You can ship all three together in the same shipment to cgc.  Make sure you initial for each of the three invoices on each side of the outer box (BB, BB/MB, an MB)  yeah it seems redundant, but best to be safe.

You can combine the return shipping as well..  On the bottom of each printed invoice write " combine shipping",  They will recalculate the shipping costs when received, and ship them back as one shipment rather than each invoice separately, if you desire.

    Thank you for your email,

If the book's cover is entirely foil, unfortunately we cannot press it. If the outside cover is foil while the interior cover is paper stock, we are able to press it. The foil covers that can be pressed have certain limitations due to the raised surface of the cover. In some cases, bends are too deep or large to be effectively removed because of these limitations.

If in doubt, please utilize the CCS screening service to determine if your foil cover is a good candidate for pressing

Hope this helps if someone else has a similar question.  Thanks to everyone who gave feedback on this

  6. I am sending a book in for a signing event, and as a general rule when doing so, order pressing, to counteract any possible indentations from the signer.  However, this book has a foil cover.  Is there a higher risk of damage for this during the pressing process than a "normal cover?  If so, would pressing still be recommended after the signing?  Thanks in advance.

  7. An extra two months is nothing.  I submitted two books for the Geoff Johns signing.  Deadline for submission was 12/15/2020.  Long series of reasons for why the signing was delayed.  One creator was living in Canada, covid restricting international travel etc.  At present, I can't even view my submission as it has passed 8 months in system.  I assume it will pop up when the books finally reach grading.  overall, the turnaround time for these signings has been good, but there has been outliers.

  8. Today, I noticed that a new status description has been added evidently for more transparency in the submission process.  "Received at CCS" is showing on each outstanding invoice that I have.  Two books submitted in December for the Geoff Johns signing.  Books submitted in June for the Simonson signing, the Silvestri signing, and the Bagley signing.  And now books submitted in July for the Jim Lee and Art Adams signings.  I have always understood that CCS received the books after the signing event.  Should I be concerned about the July books in particular seemingly already at CCS, before the signing, since the deadline for those submissions is July 30th?  Or does it seem like some sort of umbrella description to cover the first receipt of the books at CGC?  Thanks in advance for any insight provided.

  9. typical noob question.  My printer ran out of ink before I was able to print out a packing invoice for a shipment.  Too late for me to get to a store and get a replacement ink cartridge today.

Is it possible to pull up a packing invoice tomorrow with the invoice number and print it then?  And if so how would i do that?

Or should I forget about that invoice, and do a new one tomorrow when the printer is freshly fueled?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

  10. nice to know I am not the only one.  I've been experiencing these issues since yesterday.  It is slow to load then seemingly timing out with null errors or unable to fetch shopping cart notices.  And when I can access the page.  the drop down menus for title and issue date don't seem to be working.

i am interested in sending multiple books in for the in house private signing event at the end of October.  There will be five different books, each one for a different creator.  Do I have to invoice and ship each one separately?  Or can I ship it under one invoice?  Since this is being advertised as a single event, I wasn't sure.  Any help would be appreciated.

I went ahead and contacted customer service and received the following reply

You will need to complete a separate online order for each artist.  The online form will not allow you to combine artists onto one form.  You can, however, mail them in together, if you wish.  You just want to put all the artists initials on the outside of the box or write multiple private signings on the outside.

And thanks to Anthony89 was also able to find out that the return shipping can be combined by making a note on the shipping invoices to "combine shipping"

I figured that I would post this in case there were any other noobs like myself that had the same question.

    Best wishes
