I nabbed both covers on preorder at MyComicShop - no ratios. Their preorder window for this book is now closed though, but both covers are still available in a lot of places. I think it's an April 3 drop date.

Here's something a little different: One of my favorite footballs as a kid in the mid- to late-80s was the Wilson Stuffs football. Wilson made a bunch of different sports balls in the Stuffs line, including baseballs, footballs, basketballs and soccer balls. They were actually made by a company called "Lewco" that carried the Wilson name license. The balls were made of a leather-like outer vinyl shell and had a polyester fill that gave them a great feel - squishy but firm enough to hold up. The material quality made them really durable. The main line was around 5-6 inches long (so a very mini-ball compared to a normal football). While they were originally geared toward little kids, it turned out they flew fairly well and they the perfect size to stash in a jacket pocket. My buddies and I would spend many, many recesses playing pick-up football using the Wilson Stuffs ball - its size made it more challenging and fun because you could really zip it in to the receivers and it was easier to make flashy one-handed grabs. Other companies have obviously made stuffed sports balls since, but I've never found one that came remotely close to the feel, quality and durability of the Wilson Stuffs line. I don't know what happened to my original ball, and they've since become a bit (relatively) scarce and therefore a bit (relatively) pricey. I've wanted one for years but never got one, until today. I made a few offers on original Wilson Stuffs on eBay, and finally got one at what was an acceptable price to me. And on top of that, I got something I've never seen before - an advertising promo ball from Lewco and Wilson. This one is even smaller, coming in at about 3 inches long, but made of the same materials. I'm super excited to finally have one of these again, and can't wait to go toss it around with my kid! That's some BS, and a violation of board rules. It's good you're "not on the forums" anymore given your blatant lack of integrity. Based on your eBay feedback, it looks like this isn't the first time you've screwed over a buyer by relisting an item. User is comixfanatic on eBay, just so people know who to stay away from.

That's BS - you should definitely HoS them here and consider reporting them on eBay as well.

This is a great approach - like many others, I made plenty of mistakes when I was just getting back into comics in the past couple of years - I collected back in the 80s and 90s when CGC obviously wasn't a thing. There's a ton of great info on these forums (and @SOTIcollector's answer is a great example of this). I'll say in my personal example too, there are books that probably aren't necessarily worth the trouble of grading yourself, but you may want to have them in a slab for whatever reason. For me, that was Batman 404-407 - the Year One run. I personally just wanted to have those books in slabs, and it made much more sense for me to buy them already graded than to spend the money getting them graded myself, because they're so abundant to buy and the cost to buy them already graded wasn't much more than the cost would have been to pay for the grading/shipping/etc. of doing it myself. Welcome to the boards!

Death in the Family was all my friends and I could talk about when it came out. I was 11, and I remember begging my parents to let me call the 900 number (that didn't go well for me... ). I agree that it's really cool they did the alternate release - I grabbed a copy of each of the open order covers.

I had to at least hunt down the sales display card... came in the mail today!

I bought a comic lot this week that had a number of Disney and other Whitman books - is there a list somewhere that details the more sought-after issues? Edit to add: I paid $50 for the 200 book lot, basically sight-unseen (a FB Marketplace buy). I already pulled 7-8 nice books out of it, and the rest will be stuff for my $1 bins at shows. But I have a bit of a blind spot when it comes to Whitmans, especially of the non-Batman variety. Here's what was in the lot, they're all fairly beat up, but all are intact:
