Can we have less new boardie hate and more new boards hate 

For whatever it's worth, Steve (@Marwood & I) is truly a good guy. I've gotten to know him well over the past while and can say that without any trepidation. I can also say with all confidence that he is not a shill and was never here before he signed up in November.
I understand that this may not mean much of anything to some, if not most of you and I get that. I'm just as new here as he is, and am often one of those grab-assing right alongside him. 
It seems like a common denominator among those who've taken issue is Marwood's posting style / humor. These 2 things can be remedied with the ignore function, can they not? Maybe it goes beyond this and I'm missing something, but if the main gripe is that to some, he's attention seeking, it seem easily remedied. 
I feel that Steve has a valid point about the positive contributions he's made not being recognized. He has shared considerable information that can be easily found by anyone who cares to look. Perhaps it's been overshadowed by the joking around, fair enough. I also understand how some more senior members like @skypinkblu and @HarveySwick may feel disrespected. Please don't get me wrong I'm not trying to minimize your complaints. I get that Steve's style and humor is not for everyone and could be seen as disruptive or annoying. It's neither for me personally but we're all different.
Basically, I see both sides of the issue and would like to see an amicable solution reached if at all possible. If this makes me guilty by association, so be it, but I thought it only fair to speak up.
