So if the words CBCS comes up in ANY post is that also not allowed? I'm asking because I don't want to be punished again for speaking truth. The video posted quite literally didn't promote one case over the other. No where in the video did he say BUY CBCS NOT CGC. It was used for educational purposes and it served its purpose well. That is all there is too it. I'm not taking sides I'm also hoping CGC can take a hint and change the tooling of the cases to get this fixed SOON. But with MANY MANY millions of crack able cases out there its a moot point yes?

Really appreciate your feedback and thank you for honest input. I have followed and USE RELIGIOUSLY big johns methods and have never received a purple label myself. I have sent in to date 325 or so books using UV peroxide treatments and immacuclean. Never not once a purple label. BUT where I have seen the disparaging part is within the last 2 months several very well known cleaners/pressers have been slapped on the wrist with "COVER TOO CLEAN" and "COVER CLEANED" purple labels. Now since I myself didnt see these first hand and was not there before sending them off to inspect I cant say for certain they were right or wrong. However I can say that several well known cleaners/pressers have run into this issue as of late. My concern is/was that is CGC now going to go on a tirade with this causing people to resubmit books hence making more money for CGC. We all just saw CGCs MASSIVE price increase for mid tier books 1k and up, be bumped way up! I think its a money grab and this is just one more way to get money by CGC.

Just defending myself. If people attack me I should defend myself yes? Or is it ok to let the attacks continue and the attackee to just stop replying and leave like a coward? That empowers bullies they think "they won something". It also encourages them to continue on. So If I very politely defend myself without cursing is it a problem? If so then the attacker should be reprimanded to stop the entire thing agreed? I mean it takes 2 to argue correct? To allow bully commentors to "roam the halls" so to speak, isnt a great idea. I did see you step in but I still see the continued "egging on" which is not going to curtail an argument. Its like poking a bear and not expecting to get mauled. But I do see your point because in hindsight I could just leave it alone but I hate bullies and I stand up for those who are buillied in life. It just irks me when keyboard commandos think they are something they are not.

I appreciate everyones feedback I do. I counted about 20 or so different people who whole heartedly dislike the future of cleaning comics and the direction it has taken. I am on the other side of this "obviously" and have made my intentions clear and concise. Other than a few petty people intruding in the thread THANK you to all those that have posted I appreciate your honest feedback.

Its ADVICE not ADVISE. See the difference is when you ask for someones ADVICE versus someone who is ADVISING you on subject matter. Odd you would correct grammar of others yet not grasp your own mistakes.

I understand some of the questions but attacking people for bringing up the question is petty. I amongst many others do my own cleaning and pressing and I am concerned that cleaning books will bring a PLOD for using a water bath and dry eraser. These are very basic techniques and yes some of these are getting flagged as "RESTORED". CGC is basing alot of this on assumptions because if you look at a cover and see it cleaned and tidy then open up the book and see tanned pages well you are going to assume it was cleaned. I reallty dont want to argue with anyone. It seems thats all people do now adays is find something to argue about no matter what. I like to think these forums and others like this are here to help/educate/uplift people. I see too many people happy or upset that someone else is able to do something they cant or wont and then attack. I did ask for opinions and I thank each and everyone who participates in this all be it negative or positive. I will gladly debate anyone with decoram and kindness anyday about what RESTORATION vs CLEANING means. Hopefully we can all learn something from this as we go. And for those who asked about evidence or proof the one video poseted is just the tip of the iceberg. Hang tight I will post a few more here so you can see some of the seeds of chaos this is sewing. Im going to keep this short but would like the entire community to give me honest input. As of late CGC has been sending out purple labels left right and center for "RESTORATION FOR CLEANED COVER". Now heres the issue with this. Is dirt boogers and god knows what else part of a comic book when it comes off the press? I dont believe so no. Would a person rather own a book covered in filth versus a cleaned cover that brings the book back as close to new as it can be? I believe so yes. CGC hasnt had a problem with cleaning books until recently. Even in the CGC grading guide nowhere does it mention that cleaning the cover could be construed as "RESTORATION". By definition means to "RESTORE". I think CGC allowing a person to openly give an opinion on if a book is "TOO CLEAN FOR ITS AGE", is a really bad precedent. By grading books with purple labels for a simple cleaning is killing the community as of late. Its all anyone is talking about in the clean and press community. Unless CGC changes its standards and DEFINES restoration as CLEANING A COVER USING STANDARD METHODS. I think CGC will be taking a pretty big hit long term to its submissions. Theres ALOT of extremely good professional cleaners and pressers out there submitting thousands of books a year for their clients. When those clients start getting purple labels back well there goes the client. CGC You are only hurting the community as a whole doing this. NOONE is saying "ohhh thank GOD that booger and blood and dirt is still on this comic phew!"

I have a large collection of IP autos from many artists. I wanted to send a few Books into CGC to get graded. Can I pay extra to have CGC verify the signature of the book and then grade it? I dont want to get the book back with the dreaded "NAME WRITTEN IN INK ON BOOK" label. If not is there ANY other workaround for this? I dread sending my business off to CBCS....but I fear my Stan Lee and John Beatty books may have to go there just to get authenticated and slabbed. Thanks in advance everyone happy new year ;-)
