I have seen them sell for less at auction. They do go for a couple hundred dollars pretty consistently though. The $499 one has been there a while. The cheapest one that I found was $499.99. Is that price anywhere near what this book is worth? I have a copy, but I know I paid nowhere near that amount.
One sold for $100 on Ebay last week....didn't see what grade it was in but certainly that's a lot cheaper than the crazy BIN prices floating around

I don't know why I bought this....impulse buy for sure but the cover tickeled me

Only have a couple...

pretty safe bet the book will appreciate at a better than current rate of inflation but one would need to watch the market, as that could change a few years down the road (Thumbs uDear G.A.tor,I am a budget minded collector but I like the idea of long term holding of key book that could potentially be used to help supliment college funds etc for the kids (I can't save money, I have tried) . If I were to be able to scrape up enough funds to buy say a copy of Amazing spiderman #1 cgc 5.5 or cgc 6.0 condition do you think I would notice any appreciable gains over say the next 10 years or do I have to shoot for the stars and buy a higher grade copy???
Past history shows the book has appreciated in all grades. The higher the grade, the larger the appreciation. I would say MANNUP and buy the highest grade you can reasonably afford. I would suggest that a 7.5 grade might be the best bet, keeping it at the top of a mid-grade level. Just MHO.
Better start saving now then

I was waiting to take group shots when I had built a little better collection of Silver Age books but it's slow going with my focus on a bronze age key set so you will just have to bare with me
-
Don't see that book everyday....I think I am going to have to add this to my list of bronze age keys I still need

This arrived mere hours before I went to see First Class. It was worth paying for the next-day shipping from CGC to Toronto. I am beyond happy right now.
Well happy birthday to you...wowzers (worship)

I started reading this thread and looking at all of the amazing photo's and when I got to page 41 I decided to see how many more there were.....holy .....943 pages
No way I have time to go through that many in my lifetime...I need a cliff notes version of the thread with key images

A few more additions to my bronze age key collection...a bit lower grade wise then I would have liked to have added but sometimes you just have to grab then when the price is right and worry about upgrading later

Gray area but I consider this a bronze age book, not sure what the board consensus is....
I think this might fall under the late bronze from what I remember being the concensus ont hese boards (been away for awhile). I remember some thread about calling these books Cronze or Bropper.

I couldn't decide if this was a key book to pick up or not but I thought I would grab a copy just in case while the prices are still pretty cheap for 9.8's....I always seem to be a day late and a dollar short when books decide to take off like GL 76
