Here's one I submitted earlier this year. Pleasantly suprised that interior & exterior covers graded 9.8 with white pages.

So what you're all saying is I shouldn't follow through with paying him via propay for an auction I won because paypal "shut him down?"
We are exchanging emails as I type this FWIW.
But I really wanted the Avengers 16 I won on ebay...
My problem is getting a refund from Mr. Jortner for 2 books that, in my opinion, were not as described in the Ebay auctions. He did ship them a week after I paid him, and I then returned them for a full refund as stated in his auction listings.

I won a couple of his Ebay auctions on October 21st for Fantastic Four 25 & 45. (See the "Buddy Can You Spare A Grade" forum for scans.) I paid him thru Paypal and received the books last weekend. Both books listed as "high grade", but in my opinion, were mid grade issues. Returned them yesterday for a refund as stated in the Ebay listings. Waiting for the refund.
Mr. Jortner responded fairly quickly to my emails during the Ebay auctions, but he was sporadic afterwards. It took him over a week to ship these books. Since Monday (11/2/09), whem I notified him that I was returning these books for a refund, I have received no communication from him. I will give a reasonable time to refund my money after USPS confirms delivery.
Filing a paypal dispute will get a response from him. You may have to wait a couple of weeks though for your money back.
Finally heard from Mr. Jortner after I returned FF 25 & 45 with delivery confirmed yesterday. No refund as of this evening so I filed Paypal claim.

Won this Tuesday night on Comic Link's auction.

I wish. My earliest is the FF 3 CGC 7.5 Winnipeg copy. I don't have a scan handy, but maybe later.

One of my favorite FF covers. Looking for a 9.4.

The cover on this FF 56 is somewhat off-center, but I got it a couple of years ago at a decent price and I'll keep it until I find a nicer copy.

Here'a couple of FFs that I have in my collection.

Today I received a refund from Paypal for the two raw books, Fantastic Four 25 & 45, that I won on Ebay from Greg Jortner aka Paradoux LLC on October 21st. It has been my worst buying experience on Ebay in eight years! Here's a quick chronolgy of events:
Oct 22 I paid him through Paypal.
Oct 31 I received FF 45.
Nov 2 I received FF 25.
Nov 3 I return the books by Priorty Mail (with insurance and delivery confirmation) due to overgrading and inferior page quality. Books listed as "High grade" with white pages. Actually, they were midgrade copies with cream to off white pages, in my opinion.
Nov 5 Mr. Jortner receives these books and emails me to confirm delivery. He also tells me in the email that his Paypal account is frozen and that he will send me a check the next day by overnight delivery if he cannot refund my money through Paypal. I respond and tell him that I will open a Paypal claim if he has not sent payment the next day by 5 pm.
Nov 6 Mr. Jortner emails me and wants me to call him asap to discuss the situation. No mention of payment! I open the Paypal claim after 5 pm. Paypal gives Mr. Jortner ten days to respond to my "Not as described" claim.
Nov 17 Paypal moves my claim to the "Item return" stage. I provide the USPS delivery confirmation number. Mr. Jortner finally responds and requests the return of these items.
Nov 18 I call Paypal to explain that I had returned these books prior to opening the claim. I forward to Paypal Mr. Jortner's email confirming delivery on 11/5/09. Paypal wants signature confirmation because of the amount of insurance (over $500).
Nov 19 I go to my post office and get a hard copy of the signature confirmation, scan it and email it to Paypal. I call Paypal, explain the situation and receive a refund! Thank you Paypal!
