  1. Hi,

I would like to send my Assassin Creed 1 - Limited Edition for grading.

What’s particular with this game is that it came with a sealed Microsoft strip (the box has never been opened), however, the game has no plastic wrap.
I want to emphasize that the plastic wrap was not removed, but was just not there when it arrived. From my understanding, this is the case for all the Limited Edition of Assassin Creed I.

therefore, because the game has a strip seal that proves that it has never been opened, will it be considered as a Sealed game.

    Thanks !

  2. Hey CGC,

I would like to submit a CBCS slab that I recently bought.

Should I crack the slab myself ? Or can I send it with the CBCS slab and CGC will remove it for me ?

Also, should I mention anything on the submission slip ?

    thanks in advance !

    Good morning,

Thanks for your message.  Yes, if you have some books with a custom label and some without, the system will separate them out into different submissions and you will be charged separate shipping fees. This occurs even when they are in the same grading tier.

As long as the label you are requesting is a current label we offer then you can just notate it on your packing slip if it doesn't come up for some reason, and we will add it for you when your order is received.

    Thanks!

    Thanks for your answer Jennifer.

However, I have to say that I am a bit disappointed.

I mean, let’s be honest, it does not take much to CGC to print one label or another. So I have some difficulties to understand why it will put a book in a different tier... Unless mistaken, it does not change anything in the process...

Anyway, it’s sad that I want a custom label but will not take it because I will have to add 80$ for it (5$ for the label + 75$ of return shipping to Switzerland).

Yes I believe that is correct.

That’s so stupid... I mean, let’s be honest, the just need to select the label and press a “print” button... Why do they separate them into 2 different tier... I want a custom label on 1 of my comics but I will not pay an extra 80$ for that (5$ for custom label + 75$ for return shipping to Switzerland)...

  5. Hey guys,

    2 questions:

    1) I have noticed that, when adding a custom label to any comic in my submission (all in the same tier), it adds shipping fees to my submission... It appears that, when I add a custom label to a comic, the CGC system consider that this comic is in another tier and will be shipped separately. Is it true though ? Or does CGC will adapt the fees accordingly? I don’t want to pay an additional 75$ (shipping cost for 1 comic in Europe) just to get a custom label 😅

    2) I realized that, for some reason, some custom labels were not appearing for some books. For instance, I want to get the “Knull” custom label to my “King in Black: Gwenom VS Carnage”, but the “Knull” label does not appear... Which is weird because it does appear for other books. Can I just select an other label, print the form, and modify it by hand with the Knull label ? Or does CGC will not take into consideration any changed made by hand ?

    Thanks for your help.

Customers will not see every status that an order goes through internally.  It will remain as "received" until it actually is graded and then the customer sees "scheduled for grading."  It will remain that status through grading and encapsulation. There is no set time period for each status so you have to look at the overall turnaround time.  If you see that an order is past the current turnaround time for that tier and your order is not completed, then we can check further into it.

    Thanks!

    Thanks !

My submission just went to “Scheduled for grading” few minutes ago. From what you said above, I understand that they have been graded and they will be soon encapsulated 😁

I’ve had a fasttrack that was marked received on 1/28 and status hasn’t changed. It’s somewhat annoying given that even the largest number of days listed as turnaround time the entire time it has been listed as received has been 17 days and the lowest has been 11.

Is it a Fast Track Modern ?

your post does not reassure me 😭

    Good afternoon,

Thanks for your message.  Yes, the turnaround times are subject to change and this can affect invoices already here in the office.  Right now Fast Track Modern is running about 17 business days.  Your order is here and in line to be graded.  You won't see movement on your end until it is in the grading room but that doesn't mean that it's not moving along.  There are multiple statuses that the customer does not see on their end.  Your order has been here 12 business days so it should be finishing up in another 4-5 days.

    Thanks!

Thanks for your answer! Much appreciated 🙂

Just, you mentioned that my submission has been with CGC for 12 business days, while it has been marked as “received” on 2/8 ? If I am not mistaken, it’s been 15 business days ?

    Thank you !

  10. Hey,

Before asking my question, I want to say that this is just a question and not a complaint 😄. Just trying to understand the process.

I have submitted my first fast track Modern submission a few weeks ago. It has been marked as “received” by CGC on 2/8 (see image below). At that time, the current turnaround time was 11 working days. Since then, it has been changed from 11 to 12, 12 to 15 and 15 to 17 (which doesn’t bother me).

Today, it has been 15 working days that my submission has been marked as “received”, but the status is still on “received”. Is it normal that the status has not even been changed to “scheduled for grading” when it is so close to the end of the turnaround time mentioned on the website ?

I know that the turnaround time is approximate, but I had hoped that my comics would be almost graded by now...

    Thank you for your answer.

TAT was 12 days but bumped up to 15 days last week. I am in the same boat. That puts the completion date as next Tuesday.

    That’s what I thought...

But this is crazy because it means that, if CGC changes it to 25 days tomorrow, we will have to wait 10 additional days ?
Don’t they take into consideration the turnaround time when the comics arrived ?

Otherwise, it’s pointless to provide us with a turnaround time and change it every week...

  12. Hey everyone,

I have realized (too late) that the book had huge defect lines on the back cover.

When I contacted the seller, who said that this was a NM-/NM copy, he told me that it was a known factory defect of this book and that it will not impact the grade of the book.

To be honest, I have seen hundreds copies of this book and never seen this defect before.

Does someone knows if this is true ? If not, how would you grade this book ?

    Thanks !

Just an FYI don’t get your hopes up. I have a fast track modern that was received on 1/28 that isn’t even scheduled for grading yet

Something crazy just happened. I have another submission (Modern Standard), that arrived on 1/27, but did not appear into my account until today. When it appeared, it was already on « Scheduled for grading »... Is it me or it does not make sense ?

Yes, as of right now it would be 11 BUSINESS DAYS from the day of submission until the day of it being sent back to you. So a little over 2 weeks.

    I meant business days.

But still, I think it’s pretty fast compared to standard Modern submission (41 working days)...

Well, I shall have my answer within the next weeks 😁

  15. Hey guys,

How reliable is the turnaround time for fast track ?

For example, my submission has been marked as “received” by CGC yesterday. The current turnaround time for Fast Track Modern is 11 days.

Does it means that, from the date it has been marked as “received”, it will take only 11 days to get it graded and send back to me ?

It sounds too good to be true 😂

  16. Hey everyone,

I am going to submit 4 copies of SW: The High Republic #1.

From my point of view, the 4 books have a (high) potential for a 9.8. My only concern is that the covers are a bit wavy (due to manufacturing I believe).

My question is : do you think it will prevent me to get a 9.8 ? Or should I press them ? I would rather save some money that spending it on press or screening.

I have tried to take pictures of the waviness of the covers, but it was quite difficult xD

    I’ll let you judge.

    Thanks for you help !

    Good morning,

Thanks for your message.  You can check our website here for some before and after pictures showing what pressing service can do. CCS Pressing | CGC (cgccomics.com)

If you would like to have your book screened beforehand, we can do that.  The screening cost is a $10 or 1% of the declared value, whichever is greater.  You would only be charged initially for the screening and then if the books passed the screening and moved to CCS for pressing, then you would be charged the pressing fees at that time.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.  Thank you!

Thank you for your answer :)
