  1. I've been a member of this club for a few years with a lowly 3.0 SS (I am not as passionately for or against Stan Lee's sig on this book like others are, but didn't pay a premium for it at the time so I was happy with it), but I added an 8.5 to my collection this week thanks to @Math Teacher. So if anyone is interested the 3.0 is now for sale.
  2. Just bought a Hulk 181 8.5 from Joe and the deal went fantastic. Super smooth transaction, book was shipped promptly and packaged extremely well. Would gladly buy from again.
  3. Hi everyone, I had a question regarding blue label books that have signatures in them, noted on the label, typically something like "stan lee written on the first page" or "Jack Kirby written on back cover". I always dismiss those as having no validity since my assumption was that anyone could have wrote that and it would be graded/noted the same way, but someone was telling me that CGC wouldn't write that note and give it a blue label if it wasn't a valid signature. If anyone can shed some light on this for me that would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance! Also, I apologize if this is the wrong section to ask this, it seemed like the logical place for it but maybe there is a better location...
  4. bump with price reduction..$10,000 OBO. Only lowering because there is another book I want to buy but told myself I can't spend more money on books until I get rid of a few.
  5. one more bump, $10,500 OBO. With AF15s skyrocketing I imagine people will start flocking to this book even more, so I'm sure I'll regret selling this in the future
  6. Hi everyone, curious if people think this is a good candidate for a press. the big non color breaking subscription crease seems to be the one major defect a press would help, but no idea what type of grade bump it would get. Any guesses, if any would be greatly appreciated. thanks! here are the grader notes, with some pics below: -Back Cover Multiple Crease -Front Cover Subscription Crease -Right Center Front Cover Large Crease -Spine Wear Breaks Color
  7. I am fortunate enough to have a 2.0 and 2.5 ss copy, both of which I think present pretty well for their grades (decent colors, no marvel chipping, no huge tears..I have been on the lookout of a higher grade copy in which I would consolidate these two into, but curious from a pure "investment" perspective, what do people think typically does the best long term: two lower grade copies like mine, or 1 low/midgrade copy (say a 4-5)? Or are there too many variables and randomness that there isn't really one right answer? ..Sorry to have yet another "investment" discussion, and if it makes a difference I would still want to consolidate to one higher grade copy regardless of what the consensus is, but just curious what people thought here...Also, if anyone has a 4-5 they are looking to sell (or perhaps trade :)) feel free to reach out
  8. Bump and price reduction on the ASM 1, $10,500 OBO. A pretty good deal in my opinion considering on eBay earlier this month a 1.0 sold for $8.9k, and a 1.5 with a detached cover and missing pieces on the first 3 pages that affect the story sold for $9.8k, so more then my much nicer copy after taxes.
  9. ACCEPTED PAYMENT paypal TERMS OF SALE First in the thread gets the book and will trump any ongoing PM transactions, including any deal made through pm and not posted in the thread yet. PMs welcomed for additional information. No returns on CGC books No probies or HoS members. SHIPPING US free, Canada add $100 Sellling an Ultimate Fallout 4 DJURDJEVIC Variant CGC 8.5, asking $4200 OBO. Only selling because I picked up a 9.2, so want to "diversify" into another book. PM me if interested or want more photos. I also am open to trades for silver age and bronze age keys, which are what I mainly collect.
  10. ASM 129 no longer available...PM me if interested in the ASM 1
  11. ACCEPTED PAYMENT paypal TERMS OF SALE First in the thread gets the book and will trump any ongoing PM transactions, including any deal made through pm and not posted in the thread yet. PMs welcomed for additional information. No returns on CGC books No probies or HoS members. SHIPPING US free, Canada add $100 Selling a few books as I am "upgrading" to higher grades. Prices and pictures below. I based my prices on recent sales so think they are fair based on that, but I do mean OBO when I say it. I'm not in a rush to sell but also won't be offended if you really want the book and make a reasonable offer that is lower then my asking, worse that will happen is that I will say no. ASM 1 CGC 1.8 Blue Universal: Couldn't find any recent 1.8 sales, but a 1.0 just closed today (sep 7) for $8.9k, and a 1.5 with a detached cover and missing pieces on the first 3 pages that affect the story sold for $9.8k a few weeks ago, both pre-tax on ebay with multiple bids. Based on those two sales, I am asking $11k OBO. ASM 129 CGC 5.5 blue universal: asking $2100 OBO I am also open to trades, but only for Silver or bronze keys. I haven't sold a book on here yet, but can provide my ebay ID, and even my Linkedin personal info if that helps provide the buyer feel more secure about the transaction. Feel free to reach out with any questions or if you want more detailed photos. thanks for looking!
  12. Thanks for the explanation!..so is the rest of the white cover that is now off-white just typical aging/tanning (consistent with most X-men 1s I have seen, regardless of grade), or is that also something that can be cleaned? (or a combo of both)? Also, for additional context, here are my two entries into the club, both of which I think present well but aren't bright white covers either, even though the colors pop otherwise :)..Side note, if anyone is interested, the non SS I may be putting up for sale/trade now since I got the SS copy earlier this week, courtesy of @CCComics
  13. I haven't heard the term sun-shade before. Is the sun-shade/tanning referring to the darker strip along the right edge of the book? Or is the tanning referring to the whole book cover being off-white..I have seen many x-men 1s with this sort of color before, and was never sure of if it was due to soiling/dirt that could be helped with a cleaning, versus it being the page actually tanned/browned, so would love to get thoughts from those with much more experience here on how to tell the difference.
  14. this 3.5 just sold for $16,350, which seems pretty good for the grade: https://www.ebay.com/itm/114916478802?hash=item1ac18e4f52%3Ag%3Ay9MAAOSw5nxg33fz&nma=true&si=M8s6M3fzCrxbbS9yJiZvfkeYNHs%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  15. Here are my top 10, although as you can see I need to add a little bit more variety ...Next on my "to-do" list is either trading/selling one or two of the AF15s for other silver age keys I don't have (Hulk 1, Tos39, FF 1), or consolidating/trading up to a higher grade AF15.
  16. Hi everyone, would love to hear people's thoughts on the possible grade and page quality for my ASM 300 Newstand. There are also some weird tiny holes on some of the interior pages, and was wondering if anyone had any idea what those were. I have had this book stored in a cool dry place since I bought it as a kid maybe 25 years ago, and am just getting back into the hobby so am pulling out all my old books to get a better understanding of raw book grades. thanks you all so much in advance!
  17. pretty great week for me, got both of these in the mail this week
