  1. Hi!.. I did the deal. Here's what I got in return (plus I paid a little bit of cash... I was the one that initiated the deal)... I think this one has a lot of growth potential later this year! It was tough parting with my TMNT as the original owner of them, but I really wanted this one! Let me know how you think I did!
  2. Thanks! He seems like a great collector and he knows his stuff, and we were really just trying to come to a fair deal, so your note makes me feel like we're both on safe ground on either side of the deal... so hearing your assessment eases my mind! I'll post the comic I'm trading for after we make the swap! It's a 9.6 of a very solid key bronze age comic, and he's a TMNT fan, so I always somehow feel better knowing they're going somewhere to be appreciated (or at least, how I envision it!). Thanks for taking the time to respond!
  3. Hi all - I am looking at selling (preferred) or trading these (open to trading for one or two much larger key comic)... I have an offer (in trade value) for these from a collector, so I guess I just wanted to see if someone else might be interested in a purchase of them. His offer (in trade) is $550 for everything you see here (he acknowledge it might be a bit low of an offer... because I'm the one seeking the trade, and he'd prefer cash) So, I know it's hard to judge value of raw, so just assume the raw are in decent enough shape to get a 9.0+ (if submitted), and I just wanted to; a) Seek advice from the group to make sure I'm not underestimating the value (or overestimating) these. b) If there might be a better home for them here, among the TMNT'ers of this site who might pay closer to fair market for the bundle? c) Nah - sounds like a fair trade - It's a good deal - do it! Thanks for your time, reading this! All opinions are appreciated. Cheers.
  4. Let me know your thoughts on the value of a TMNT #10 First printing, 9.8, with SS? (and if you might be interested!?). I'm having a hard time finding a comp to figure out what I should price it at!! Cheers.
  5. Thanks.. I've stuck my toe into the TMNT chat section on some books I was getting slabbed with Eastman SS, but know there is a whole set of unwritten rules, and nuances to show respect for process, and common mistakes in these forums! Would love to up my game of grading the nuances of the lower grades.. it's pretty easy to argue from 8.5 to 9.8, but the nuances of grades under 6 are a whole new kettle of fish for me. Cheers.
  6. Thanks! It ain't easy being a noob. Doing this as a learning exercise, so I'll do my best to stay out of people's way, and clutter of dumb questions on the message boards. Don't know what to expect this time, but I expect to improve each contest. Cheers.
  7. Geez - Sorry to pepper you with the questions! I just send my grades to you on PM (Sunday 12:30 est) - let me know if I made the closing time or not! Cheers, and Stay Zesty.
  8. Lol. Send out a mass email and ask if anyone has been waiting an unusual extended period of time for their order! See how many replies you get! I'm in Canada and have been waiting for a box of 25 modern for 8 months. Take a look and let me know if it says "CA" is in "CANADA" or "CA" as in "California". Good luck with the mystery. I hope everyone right comics get to the right people!
  9. Hi - Noob CGC question for Toronto Fan Expo 2021 for anyone who has experience with it?: I know CGC is going to be here Oct 21-24, because they mentioned they are there to witness the Jim Lee 2021 signing event, but if you want to have an artist in "artist's alley" sign a comic, can you get a CGC person at the show to follow you through the alley and certify they saw it signed and take possession of it? Same goes for a cover sketch? Also - Will CGC take all submissions at the show, to save Canadians at least "half" the shipping costs of sending to Florida? (Shipping costs from Canada are killer-expensive). Thanks for any help!
  10. Hey everyone - Many, many, MANY months later after you all helped me with sparing a grade, and the unboxing from Eastman is in! The photos got me a 9.2-9.4 consensus grade from the community... And here's the verdict... Ta-da! I was hoping for a 9.9 or 10 (none in registry - hey, you gotta dream!) - but I'm a very happy camper!
  11. Sorry... "There's company"... I think I defaulted to the original ad in my head...?
  12. Curious... Sorry if I'm repeating a question. Do we know what comic book Loki was reading in Episode 2? Definitely a Jet Ski Ad... "With a Tandom, there's room for two"? Definitely sounds like they'll be a team.
  13. Thanks! I took great care of my comics as a kid. And over time, properly storing them, and I think "forgetting about them", helped! My whole collection is like this... so CGC will probably make a lot of money off me! I just signed up, and submitted 10 books. I had 4 of them pressed, and 3 more to be pressed by CGC for the Eastman event. Aside from my autographed ones, I think I need to consider cracking open my 9.6 ASM 300, and my 8.5 Hulk 181. When I submitted those, I honestly thought even "rubbing" them with a microfibre cloth, or pressing was a strict "no-no" and could get you a green label or whatever the bad label is... Obviously, really worried about "re opening" those two, as I know there's no guarantee the grade would improve... I'm so happy I found these chat boards and re-ignited my collecting passion (and, in my kids!)... I just need to learn how to "let go" of comics too!
  14. Quick question, apologies if it has been asked.. I have a few comics that I brought to a convention as a super noob, and literally pulled it from my 30 year old collection - the last time I touched it was probably 30 years ago - and got a few books signed and slabbed.... If they come back, from the greasy fingertips of a 16 year old, to the graders of CGC - I'm sure they would could have been 9.8 candidates with just a cursory press, and maybe a clean. Does CGC do this with their pressing company? Can they crack and press a comic that has been signed, and does CGC still honour the chain of possession/authentication? Thanks, and cheers!
  15. Hey Gazoony - I'm in the process of selling/grading my TMNT's Mirage run, with expectations of some 9.8s (they are not graded yet, and look like 9.8's without ever being pressed)... I have a full run of 1st prints from 4-22 and one-shots I want to sell to a good home, along with Grim Jack, and early reprints of #2 and #3... but it's time for me to downsize to my TMNT collection to 4 or 5 favourites. I've posted a couple photos in "can you spare a grade". I'm picking a few for me for the Eastman signing (I'm submitting my #1, Raphael, and #4 1st print at least.. and deciding on others) and I am hoping to sell the other 9.6-9.8's to someone else who wants to get Eastman to sign something, without having to crack a CGC case - it seems like too good of an opportunity to miss. Let me know if you're interested. Cheers.
  16. Hi - I'm deciding which of my TMNT's to submit for grading and signing for the Eastman event. Please let me know your thoughts. I can't afford to submit them all, so I will probably make my selections for submission based on community grading, And I would be willing to sell my "community-graded" ones that I can't afford to submit personally - if someone is looking for a high-end, unslabbed copy for upcoming signature event.. Here's my #6... Thanks for having a look!
  17. Thanks guys! It's a definite submission for me, so I'll let you know how it does and post it here. It's never been pressed, so wth a press, I've got my fingers crossed. A 9.2 or 9.4 from this very forum has me cautiously optimistic! I know how tough you all (rightly) grade comics! Cheers.
  18. Hi - Newbie here, but I have some graded comics at home and a lot of well taken care of unslabbed comics that I'm getting back into. With the Eastman signing coming up, I'm going to get some of my best stuff signed and slabbed, so I wanted everyone's opinions on some grades on which ones. I'll submit some of them and tell everyone the actual grade, but the ones I don't submit (hey - the kids have to eat!)... will be up for sale. Here is TMNT #5, first print, for your opinions... Thanks! Pash.
  19. Hey everyone - I'm new here, but what drew me is that I'm actually selling some of my comic collection - Specifically, I'm downsizing my TMNTs right no! So that Heritage Auction has my interest too! There is sniping there too. The "pre-bidding" is already really high on the super-key TMNT ones, like #1, 2, 3 early prints.. So I have a feeling, this whole covid year, and it's Christmas... people might splurge on some old nostalgia from their youth. Plus, it's a perfect storm with the CGC Kevin Eastman signing coming up. I think it might be record prices! On that note :).... (for the Turtle on your list!).. I'm selling the rest of my Turtles collection. I'm keeping the few TMNT's that are near-and-dear to me, and the others - that are surely 9.4, or 9.6's, or (gasp) higher - are up for sale. Let me know if anyone is interested in getting an unslabbed 9.4, 9.6 or 9.8, and I can send all kinds of photos - perfect timing! unslabbed, never been pressed, Eastman signing. For me, I'm sending in my TMNT #5 (a chance at being a 9.9), my Raphael, my #4 1st print, and #1 3rd print in for the Eastman signing.. Cheers!
  20. Thanks! I'm glad I asked. I'll look for that area...
  21. Hey Glaz - I'm a newbie on this site as well, but am a bit more experienced of a collector. I'm sort of trying to do the same as you, but I'm just trying to down-size, and it's just as tough. My comics are all probably in the highest grades where a 9.6 or a 9.8 is night and day. A 9.8 might sell for $300, and a 9.4 might sell for $45. I think the biggest kicker is finding out after the fact you got hosed. Which has happened to all of us. It's just "how much" did we get hosed by, and was it self-inflicted? Auction is probably the best bet, as the comic hunters will jump on each other to try to get a bargain, and will set a "quasi-fair" price for bulk buy "dice roll". The other route is to pull out the "key" issues, and then examine them super careful, and if corners are sharp, comics are super-flat and light reflects off them with no defects... The you can see if you think it's worth the hassle to sell them one or two at a time. Otherwise, sometimes just spreading them out and sending a good photo to someone who knows comics well can at least see some covers that will ring a bell for them. Cheers. Rob. PS - As a side question for everyone else here and the moderator - is it ok to post comics for sale on this site? Is it okay to review and make offers? I just wouldn't want to break any rules if I offered to look at someone else's comics... or sold some of mine that I'm downsizing?
