  1. You are constantly meeting people when your rolling. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Guys on the bottom are Unforgotten Souls M.C. a support club for all military, police, and veterans. There help in this area is fantastic what they do for people.
  2. Kind of like the get back whips with a pool ball on the end. they attach on the brake lever right side of the bike, and detach with on click. of course these are for decoration only.
  3. When you work construction, especially in Chicago, you see things that no one else would see or believe. Gun fire, bodies, you name, boy did I see some crazy mess. This story could be a made for t.v. movie. So Walsh has this huge Manitowoc Crane on 31st and the Lake that needs to be moved down to the boat lagoon on 67th at the harbor. To break it down, and take it in sections would cost them about 20K in time and labor to move. Someone finds, or he found them, some fricking drunk lagoon troll with a tug boat and a barge that claims he can move it for 5K cash on the spot. They tell him go get it. LOL. No way. Yes way. This guy probably hadn't had a bath in a year and maybe three teeth in his mouth. Lucky no lake patrol or inspectors were around. They load this whole monster on this barge in one piece. Im at the lagoon on 67th running the Komatsu and the owner of the company I work for came out and said we have to dig a ramp down and place some mats to get that crane on shore. Now how this drunk got that 75ft barge navigated through that harbor no one will ever no, and didn't get thrown in jail, but here it came and in one piece. WTF.. We were laughing our asses off. You can't make this sheet up. Caught a few pics.
  4. And as usual, this thread devolves quickly, but that's okay. With all the stuff that has happened this year, we all need and outlet. So how about a story. I have a few to tell as this contest moves along. So with all the digging I did most of my life, I dug up tons of old bottles, jugs, and a few other things. Seen some interesting stuff, and some horrific things when you work in Chicago. Anyway, the big pic is at 57th & Lake Shore Drive, right across the street from the Museum of Science and industry. You can see the sheeting on the side of the machine. We're about 40 from the lake so we had to keep the water and sand from coming in. Two water main reroutes. The large pipe is a 48" and the other one is a "34. Getting ready to cut a hole in the sheeting. This company was good to work for. They knew what they were doing which takes a lot of pressure off the operators. Anyway, we then had to jack the "36 under lake shore drive. Once on the other side, we had to remove and old existing main, and put the new one back in the same ditch. Lots of blob top bottles coming out with the sand. When I see things like this I always picture these guys back in the 40's & 50's who came before me when lots of this work was hand work. Makes me wonder who drank out of those bottles and just tossed them back in the ditch for me to find decades later.
  5. Maybe a live ceremony later? I have two full unopened six packs of Mash 401 too.
  6. Take a look at the 905 can. LOL. I have a million stories. We were working in Crete Illinois on a new subdivision project running the sewer and water mains. There was an old farm out building in the way. Lots of that stuff back then when developers were buying land and sub dividing it. The walls were cinder blocks. When when went to level the building and push it out of the way, these 905 cans fell out of the wall. LOL. Found tons of bottles and crocks digging in Chicago. I could have packed a warehouse but how much krap can you drag home. Oh and that Miller Malt Liquor is unopened.
  7. Be back a bit later. In the meantime, here's secret clue number one, that's not really a secret suckers.
  8. Okay folks, just up dated things. I have some running to do this morning. Since I had to cut a day off this contest from the software glitch, there will be 2 Bonus Boxes, 3 Mystery Boxes, and a Daily Double coming up today and this evening. And one Secret Clue coming up. Someone go and drag those guys out of that grievance thread. I have a head ache from it. Get those lousy guess's in before 6 Central Sunday.
  9. I'll update everything in the morning, and will be in and out most of the day, but around in the evening. Please mind your manners in here and keep it civil people. I'm off to hit the hay.
