  1. Just as I thought this saga was coming to a close it gets even spicier. This thread is so good I started reading it yesterday at work and had to save it until today. I'm holding back tears right now bravo everyone.
  2. If I recall properly he had an order go backwards at one point so i'd assume he mislabled something that needed further researched or submitted to the wrong tier. I don't know it's an ongoing saga. It could also just be a massive bulk order or a combination of those factors that would delay the order severely.
  3. There was a popular video going around that time that told people to submit their order and label the cards as “bulk cards” on the order sheet with x50 or how ever many cards instead of properly listing the cards so I imagine they have to research each card repeatedly. I assume a lot of people submitted this way.
  4. Yeah you’re about a month out from scheduled for grading. Beyond that it’s about another four to five business days or so before your shipped out.
  5. I've been hard on CGC they've encountered some faults and are actually making good headway into their backlog that is pretty impressive. They do grade strict there are cards I sent in that without a doubt would net a 10 at PSA that scored a weak 9 that being said they grade extremely fairly and from what I can see from the scans I completely agree with the grades they gave to each card. I don't have to look at a 10 and wonder how that card got a 10 and slid through the graders which is extremely refreshing. All being said I will continue using cgc as long as they stay accountable to their TAT. This is the value they bring over their competitors and why I think they have a place amongst the top in the industry. My sub was finished ahead of schedule by 4 days from the previous turnaround and 9 days prior to the current tier turnaround time. Absolute quality work.
  6. Nah it 100% is as long as it was sent to the correct PO box their deliveries are automatically forwarded to their warehouse. Your status should say received within the next week or so depending on their receiving backlog.
  7. Yeah it's totally normal. The orders aren't actually being physically picked up it's the same as delivered. CGC's PO box is inside their building but the post office apparently isn't sophisticated enough to make the distinction between delivered to a PO box ready to be picked up and delivered to a warehouse PO box (i.e physically delivered) as far as I know.
  8. Oh yes those decimal points can be tricky I can see why it takes an extra 5 days to enter them into the system... If anything you could say it’s research on the cards that take so long but you can’t charge more for sub grades at that point could you? It’s an arbitrary price increase they already use the sub grades to calculate the score but to print them so you can see them you have to pay more and wait 5 extra days. It’s literally just charging more to print them on the card that’s it.
  9. Uhhh isn't that how cards are graded in the first place? They calculate the score based on the subgrades. It takes an extra 5 days to print the subgrades? Are they etching them in stone if so I can loan them a printer or two..? Subgrades keep grading companies accountable to their score. They shouldn't be rewarded for an arbitrary price raise that doesn't make sense in the first place other than the fact it's a popular service.
  10. I’m saying if cgc doesn’t provide as much or better value than psa/bgs while charging nearly the same price they’re ultimately doomed. The turnaround is all they have going for them at this time and it continues to increase and so do prices. They lose their competitive edge against the companies that have a larger market share and thus more desireable competition and cgc’s approach to maintaining their competitive edge has proven to fail. I’d wager PSA turnaround times come down sooner than CGC does at this point because they’ve had a head start using the same method and then what happens when the turnaround times are nearly identical?
  11. So how exactly does cgc address this differently to prevent the "Industry Issue" from bogging them down? Oh they took the same approach that doesn't work. Correct. So why use the company that's going to bring less value to you if they're going to ultimately end up in the same boat..? What value does CGC bring over the competitors other than early turnaround times being lower? Sooo what value do those have other than having slightly lower turnaround times to flip your sick nasty zard pulls before everyone else? Once again you have fastest confused with smaller backlog. They're only "Fastest" because they have less people utilizing their service and they've already shown to be getting backlogged and they took the same approach as their competitors that did not work to the issue. So I ask again, then what value does it bring to use cgc? They're already at 3 month turnaround times for bulk and growing.
  12. Just wait until they start grading sports cards and bulk grading shippers start sending in 10,000+ cards a week. Raising prices and hope that people stop sending stuff has proven to be the wrong approach if they’re looking to reduce turnarounds however it’s great for maximizing profits.
  13. No their turnaround times are the lowest. This isn't the same thing as saying they're the fastest. Correct because they're less backlogged. PSA has an entire warehouse of backlog. There's 0 indication that CGC won't end up like that and there has been little reassurance they have found a solution to the ever increasing turnaround times in fact they've taken the same approach PSA has that resulted in their turnaround times.
  14. Just a correction here. They aren't the fastest and aren't proven to be the fastest actually they're the least proven in the hobby. They're falling into the same pitfalls as competitors they're simply the least backlogged which results in faster turnaround times as you can see by the ever growing turnaround times. If prices continue to rise there's no value gained in paying the same fees for a CGC 9.5 for a psa10 in fact the opposite it makes it more likely for me to choose PSA considering the market share ultimately results in higher prices on resell for a dollar more investment per card bulk.
