As long as you can understand what im saying, its irrelevant how im saying it. If you cant understand something, try communicating.

I can’t understand what you’ve been saying in your past posts because they don’t make sense, so I’m trying to communicate. Therefore, how you’re saying something has to be relevant in order for us to understand you. Did I do this right...?

And im a very strong believer in that we are in a massive bubble that will burst once vaccines roll out and the world stabilizes. Once people arent home all the time and young people move out of their parents place, the interest will plummet. Its not going to die or anything like that, but Pokemons fad status will die off and go back to being how it was in 2018-2019.

You and I have discussed this before and wonder what your thoughts are for the new crop of people who jumped into the Pokemon scene the past few months and the longevity of their Pokemon stay. The growth curve for newer Pokemon fans after the world stabilizes is very likely to decline, but I wouldn't go so far to say it will plummet.

There's the possibility that some of those who newly bought in will continue to have the itch, include their friends, and continue new user growth albeit slowly. Also, there's the flipping side of Pokemon. While they're not apples to apples, flipping Pokemon is much like what's going on with meme stocks and those that are paper handed day traders – the only difference is tangibleness. The fad will slowly decline but I do think interest will slightly be above that seen in 2018-2019.

The point of grading is to get a professional opinion on a card and have it encapsuled for resale at some point. If your going to take your cards to your grave, either buy screw cases, or find some trophy shop to make you labels.

You dont need a professional company to tell you how to enjoy your cards. Im sorry that you did not do the research before hand, but its a service that is mostly done for resale purposes.

You're right, no one needs a grading company to tell people how to enjoy their cards. But have you stopped to think that getting a pro's opinion could inherently increase the sentimental value for a collector? I for one am not a fan of the screw/magnetic cases out there and love the aesthetic to CGC's line; I have a few comics graded by them that would look amazing with (fingers crossed) future card slabs of graded Marvel trading cards.

I agree with many of the points you bring up regarding pricing – it sucks to see TATs be where they are. On the point of grading for a professional opinion? Agree. To assist with the reselling? Disagree. My two cents.

So I have 3 Meiji cards, and with the overnight PSA price hike I don’t really want to send them there and it will clash with all my CGC slabs. Will CGC be able to grade these? I tried entering them but didn’t see them.

They won't grade anything unless it's specifically TCG. I sent in a few Pokemon carddass items and got word they will be ignored when processing my batch.

I just received my regular service back from PSA last week. Received 1/15 - Delivered 2/16. I have 3 more subs with both CGC and PSA out there right now with all different service levels. I was pretty much just saying that they can still be used. Not everyone is using grading services to resale either.

All in all it comes down to personal preferences. Can you imagine if CGC didn't open their doors to TCG grading? PSA turnaround times would be wrecked. Regardless of whether you're a flipper or passionate about the hobby, the truth is Pokemon is expanding to new audiences and reinvigorating the existing community creating a demand that's been unheard of. At some point, I believe we'll plateau for a bit and will get the much needed breathing room for grading companies to catch up and get back to respectable turnaround times. Remember, these businesses are hiring like crazy, however, they also need to be smart about forecasting trends. I'm sure CGC is trying to be conservative with the number of hires in relation to the demand; you don't want an influx of graders if the trend hypothetically diminishes overnight. Also, would you feel comfortable having fairly inexperienced graders overseeing your cards just to say you got your cards back in a faster time? Not me, but again, it all comes down to personal preferences.

It isn't Rush hour nor would I go to Mcdonalds during Rush Hour. I would find another store :P

You're missing the point. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Also, many of us have already pointed out that unlike McD, you don't have millions of other options when it comes to grading. And because there's a low number of companies who grade, with extremely high demand it's inevitable EVERY company will be backed up.

Or maybe they grade for their own personal collection and aren't a greedy scalper/flipper and the more it costs them the grade the less they want to grade. I've been collecting since 1999. I have a collection of about 100,000 USD. I like receiving my cards back in a timely manner. Meaning if I pay for a estimation of 30 days I expect it to be around that. But maybe I am looney lol!

That's supply and demand, friend. When I order a Big Mac during rush lunch hour, I want that sucker made exactly the way I like it and in a speedy fashion. Does that always happen? Hell no. And to expect that services in this world stay linear is looney to me but to each their own.
