  1. Hello fellow collectors and CGC professionals. I have some very high value cards i would like to get graded pretty soon. I've never graded any cards before but I do myself own some cards in slabs. Can anyone here break down the grading process? starting from when the grader opens my package until the cards are placed into the slab? How many people will be handling my cards? is there 1 grader? or multiple? Are there instruments used in the grading process? I heard CGC laser scans cards for centering through a machine to achieve accuracy, is this true? Also sometimes a spec of dust or 2 might slip into a sleeve without it being noticed, do you guys keep a tiny microfiber cloth nearby to tell if an actual "defect" is attached to the card or is just mitskaingly laying on the surface? I would like to know what goes on behind the scenes. To be honest, im nervous. I have some extremely pristine cards and sending them away from me makes me uneasy, but maybe thats a natural feeling for a first timer. I would love to know more about this topic. -Mike
