#26 No collection can be complete without a classic "Underground" comic. I am not a fan of Crumb, so I went with a rare comic with a cool 1st appearance. Welcome in Cherry Poptart!

#25 My favorite Bronze Age Wonder Woman cover!

#22 I wanted to have Horror comic with a "Classic Cover" in my collection. I quickly learned that buying one in high grade with nice pages would be met with endless opposition. I must have placed bids on 30 or more books with no luck in winning one. This one is lower grade than I wanted, but it is among my favorite covers of the era.

#19 This was the 1st Mile High comic I ever owned. I really wanted a main-stream superhero title, but I begrudgingly settled for this one. Since then, it has grown on me and now is one of my favorite comics that I own.

#15 My collection felt incomplete without a Schomburg Captain America cover. This relatively new purchase corrected that.

#10A and #10B
On a cold December night in 1973, my mom asked me to fetch my favorite comic for her. I sifted through my brother's collection and picked out the one with the best cover; Marvel's Greatest Comics #42. She tore the cover off right in front of me and handed the remainder. No big deal....I went back to playing with football cards.
Christmas morning came and the reason for the dastardly act of comic destruction was revealed...
Throughout the years, this cover has remained one of my all time favorites. I couldn't find a super-high grade copy of Marvel's Greatest Comics, so I had to settle for this version.

#9 When building my collection, I wanted to include comics that represent all eras and genres. The search to find a great "Good Girl" comic ended with this purchase.

#7 For a while, I collected multiple copies of Conan #1. This was the best of them...and is the last of them.
-
#6 This was relatively inexpensive in 2017! I am glad I bought it when I did.
-
#5 This was the first comic I spent over $3,000 for. It was purchased on eBay in 2005. I am not sure why the sale doesn't appear on GPA, but I think I paid $7,300 for it.

#27 This is a weird one for me. I love the early Spectre covers, except for this one. I'm glad it's labeled a "Classic Cover", but I find most of the other ones from this era better.
