Both my received 2/11 bulk orders have officially passed my received 2/11 economy. I’m so lost.
Yeah I am not sure what is happening. I submitted 28 cards economy and 3 cards economy with sub grades together and they were received 2/11. The subgrades are supposed to take 5 days longer than regular economy but somehow i got my sub grades back almost 2 weeks before my economy submission shipped. My only guess is that smaller submissions tend to be finalized and shipped first (even if they were received same day or later), how big was your 2/11 economy submission?

Well my received 2/11 bulk has just passed my 2/11 received economy. Bulk is in grading/quality control. Economy is still at encapsulation phase.
my 2/11 economy just went into grading/QC today from encap phase. So yours will probably change soon!

2/12 still in grading/encap D:
yeah... wtf? my 2/11 economy is still in grading/encap as well. What i dont understand is my economy with subgrades that shipped together with my regular economy was shipped back by themselves on 7/28. I thought sub grades took 5 days longer?

Did it go into Grading/Quality control, or skip straight over from Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging?
Sub grades were in Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging for a few days I believe, I don't remember exactly. And then they were in Grading/QC for around 2 weeks

I just got charged for my 2/11 economy, how long after you get charged do they usually get your shipment out?

I’m confused. They took my 2/11 payment right after they received them
Thats odd. I am fairly certain they dont usually charge until the tail end of the grading process.

Them charging your card just means your cards are finally being graded. Based on how long some people stay in the grading/encapsulation stage, I’d say you’ve still got some time to wait.
My cards have already been in grading/encapsulation stage (grading/QC for sub grades) since July 7th I believe

Exactly, that’s the whole point to getting your cards graded. Loosening their standards would definitely ruin their brand and turn them into a sub par grading service. I like how strict they are cause 10s shouldn’t be given out unless the card is perfect. Keeps the premium high on those cards and furthermore, it’s the right thing to do for their company and their customers.
I also thinks this helps to make modern more collectible, since 10’s of hit cards will still be low pop. Once CGC has their pop report out I feel like the price of 10’s is gonna skyrocket

I am guessing that they got slammed with submissions the week prior to the Feb 16 price increase. Waiting on my 2/12 economy as well.
Youre probably right, but damn that sucks lol. I accidentally shipped my cards without CGC Cards on the label, just CGC so it took an extra 2-3 weeks to be received. Our time will come soon!

I have two submissions from 2/12, and both have been in Grading/Encapsulating/Imaging for 14 days now. Seems that's way above normal. Anybody else have cards stuck in this phase, or does this warrant a call to CGC?
I have a economy submission received 2/11 that is in the same boat. They just changed how they do the stages of grading so maybe this stage takes longer now. Ill give it a week and I'm gonna reach out.

Yeah its 30 business / working days. That's why I ask because they've now had my cards longer than that and still no progress.
I'm going to be in a tough spot soon as i have subscription service that uses these cards. I sent them in with about 9 weeks of cushion before I would be needing them. Around the time they arrived they changed the wait time so I have no idea if my cards got a 30 day wait, 45 day wait, 75 day wait or just whenever they feel like it.
I love cgc for grading and I'm actually getting another submission ready so I have 4 or 5 months of cushion this time. But the whole recieved status sucks.
I think they should adopt a waiting line feature. Your order is in place 400/1500 and so on that way you have some inclination as to when you may expect your order.
I totally agree. I love CGC and will continue to use them, however I wish there was more transparency. I can understand the situation they are in, however they should at least be sending emails out to customers who will be seeing delays. Having no idea how long you have to wait makes the process so much more grueling.

Turnaround time starts the day your cards are marked as received. I am not sure if the 30 days are business days. if they are, expect at least 6 weeks from received date. Once your cards go into grading, they are finished pretty quick, so dont worry about them still just saying received.

Paul,
Please put this warning in the "how to ship" section! Just a simple warning that says if sent with the wrong company name (I used CGC Grading Services bc i didnt know) it will increase turnaround times by a week or two. Would save you guys and customers some time and frustraion.
Thank you!

eBay listing selling open slabs
in CGC Trading Cards General Discussion

I'd say that CGC would want to protect their brand. These slabs are not meant to be opened cleanly and if people start doing this, it could question the legitimacy of many CGC slabs. I am sure this is not something CGC wants.
