  1. Ok so I have this copy and it's a double cover. Some of the problems I can see: the front right corner has a small fold which caused a color breaking crease on both covers. The back left corner has a bit of a "crunch" (not sure what else to call it) on both covers but less so on the second cover. I think this book could benefit from a press (the book is a bit warped as can be seen in the pictures) so please let me know what you think the grade as is and what it could be with a press. Lastly, I'm thinking about getting it signed by Mark Bagley but I'm trying to figure out if is worth getting signed. Double covers of this are pretty hard to come by from the research I've done but I don't know if I should just get it slabbed or slabbed and signed. I am looking at this strictly from a monetary perspective. Any thoughts?
  2. Even considering those weird circular indents/mini holes on the inside pages as can be seen in the last picture?
  3. So this is such a gorgeous copy on the outside, but I don't know what to make of what's going on inside. I've seen those sort of folded lines on pages before but what concerns me more is that weird spot on the back half of the comic which actually makes a bit of a hole in some of the pages. Anyone know what this is and how it happens? As well as how it would affect the grade? It looks like some small round object was pushed on the page. Is it part of the printing process? I have another copy (from the same collection) which has the same "issues" on the inside of the comic.
  4. Ya I don't think I want to mess with it but that's a good way of doing it.
  5. This is a gorgeous copy. I can see barely anything wrong with it other than a minor spine tick (I'm not sure it can even be seen in the pictures). But the way the staples look inside is gross to me, does that affect the grade at all?
  6. Trying to see if this is at least a 9.6 once pressed. There seems to be a couple slight spine ticks (non color breaking) but that's all I can really see. Thoughts?
  7. Saw someone selling this online, wondering what your thoughts are grade wise (assuming the inside is ok, they don't have inside pictures unfortunately). Thanks!
  8. I agree with you that this error would not increase value, but I guess a better question on my part is "Does this error decrease the value of this comic book?"
  9. Hey everyone, I was looking at my copy of Young Avengers #9 Volume 1 because I was going to put it for sale and I noticed on one of the inside that there was some red lines of ink. I found this to be odd but I attributed it to someone being careless while reading it in the past. However, I just recently found another copy in a different collection I bought (my first copy did not come from this collection) and it has the exact same red lines. The lines can be seen in the panel where it says "Excuse me sir, but that purse...?" So is this a printing error that does not affect value? Edit: I am trying to figure out if this error decreases the value, I do not think it increases the value.
  10. I just wanted to give everyone an update. I started this thread because I had someone asking me to sell their copies of Samurai #1 and #2 from Nightwynd Productions. I couldn't find any information about those books so I made this thread. I did end up selling them though. A 9.4 copy of Samurai #1 sold for $950 USD and a 9.4 copy of #2 sold for $750 USD. It took about a month and a half for these to sell on eBay. Afterwards, I put two slightly lower grade copies of the same books for sale. A 7.0-8.0 copy of Samurai #1 sold for $900 USD and an 8.0 copy of #2 sold for $720 USD. At the end of the day, it seems that for these specialty items you just have to price them high and wait for offers. I hope this can help someone else who someday will be looking for the value of these comics as well.
  11. This is a great thought, thanks for that. I agree with your comparison to the SS market.
  12. I definitely want to list them, just want to make sure I don't go too low or ridiculously high
  13. Thanks for everyone's insight, good thoughts. Much better insight than the comments I received in Facebook groups haha
  14. Hey everyone, I have been trying to find out the value of the following books by Barry Blair (when he started out with Nightwynd Productions): Elflord #1, Samurai #1, and Windblade #1 in NM condition. This has proven very difficult as there is very little sales history online (according to my research). According to comicbookrealm, Elflord #1 is worth $200 as a 9.4, but a 3.0 copy of the same book recently sold for $215 CAD on eBay. Obviously I think they are undervaluing that book which makes me wonder what it could really be worth as a 9.4. The value for Samurai and Windblade has come up empty handed. No clues for those ones. I was wondering if any of you had any insight. Thanks!
