That is a nice looking #40. Was your #39 in about the same shape? I just sold my #39 a couple of weeks ago because it had been trimmed and the staples were replaced (not by me). I bought it at WonderCon 12 years ago and didn’t notice it was restored until it came back from CGC with a purple label. The plan was to put the money in savings and save up for a low grade universal to replace it, but I saw a Venus #19 for sale and couldn’t resist. I hope a 2.0 isn’t $10,000 in a year or two.
Thanks! No, my 39 was a mid grade copy, around 5.0. Bought before the days of CGC for $250...
Sorry to hear about the undisclosed restoration on your 39, I hate those stories. Nice pick up on the Venus with the funds though, what a cover!

Flessel's first MF cover, great get! And it looks much nicer than a 5.0.
Had lunch with Frisco today and he brought this book with for a little geeking afterward. It is indeed much nicer looking than the grade would indicate. Tremendous pick up Jimmy!

New Adventure Comics #28 .5 c/ow pages. A surprisingly nice copy that had the front cover neatly removed. The back cover is still firmly attached at both staples. Mycomicshop just auctioned a New Adventure 27 in the same condition (missing front cover, c/ow pages) last week that ended at $637. This book for parts ALONE is worth more than my asking price. I know there's a restored .5 out there missing page 22, so here ya go (whoever has it)! There is a color copy of the cover included. $250
Some books you're happy to get any copy. This is one of those for me!
Thanks Jimmy!!

No prob, Russ. Thanks for putting me at the top of the list! In the meantime, I'm happy to accept your Tec 31 until the Adventure 37 becomes newly available.
Yeah..that's going to be an even longer wait. Honestly, probably one of the very last books I'll ever sell. I'm like a kid at Christmas every time I take it out of the mylar.

Well, I am glad that I didn't win this turd of a book in the end then.
Hey Electron: If you brought this book based upon HA's incorrect auction lot descripton write-up attributing the cover artwork to Flessel instead of reading the CGC label, I will consider taking this book off your hands for half the price just to help you out here.
Sorry Lou, I never even read the Heritage description!

Great book and one that is extremely hard to find, especially in mid-grade or better, congrats. The jungle themed pre-hero DCs seem to be in very high demand lately.
Thanks RHG. Means a lot coming from a collector like you. I've been admiring many of your New/New Adv/Adventures today as I re-read that thread you started years ago. And kudos to you for keeping your scans active on it. So much fun to see all those books again!

Your direct underbidder here.
You beat me into submission! But I’m glad to know the book went to a first-class boardie. Congrats!!
Sorry about that...I've been looking for a nice copy for years. Thanks for the kind words, I'll put you at the top of the list if I ever decide to sell. Though admittedly that might be a really long wait...
