  1. hey pirate i'd probably consider adding mroe sigs, but the book is just 9.6, so it's probably not worth it to recrack it again, you know? plus, i dont want the cover to look even more busy that it already does good idea though
  2. man i need shelves like that! what i also need is a room like that too! my bookcases just aren't cutting it anymore
  3. another thing i got this week that I posted in the Signature room along with one other book. I'm really digging the currnet Iron Fist series right now, and this is a real keeper:
  4. some modern books that i think will be a nice set to have: the one last thing i want to get for this set is the #1 2nd print (which I will have in the next month or two), so it's alll good
  5. I saw my good friend Will Wong today, (ebay id: spankyw28) and i picked up some very nice cgc ss books from him. he's gotten tonnes of books signed for me and is the one i can credit for getting me into slabbing books. Getting my x3 signed Cap run was done almost totally by him alone. Onto the books: Iron Fist is such an awesome book, so I think it's awesome this one is awesome to have. Next up: it may not be 9.8, but it's x4 signed: i look forward to getting more done in the future. these guys need friends
  6. that really is a nice looking issue! how much does one of those go for?
  7. it's sweet to see that you have those issued SS! i recently got back my set also signed by Simone Bianchi but didnt have the $$ to get any slabbed. this is what i have up on my little comic wall:
  8. very cool issue! it turns out the whole marriage thing was a dream
  9. if i lived on my own, i'd probably have a much crazier/better set up. it's officially a "store" when i have custom made bookcases to showcase certain books. i just like having my little wall above my computer
  10. who signed them? looks like Marc Silvestri and Chris Claremont
  11. That is pretty sweet, such nice shape and it isn't from a recognized pedigree. it's cool how the label notes the "origin of Doctor Strange" i was never clear on his origin.
  12. i swear that I've seen that cover in a movie before, but i can't remember which movie. does anyone know? awesome look grabs everyone!
  13. i just posted this pic in the "group shot" thread. as soon as I did that, I realized that it should be in here to share: Signatures (left to write) from: Simone Bianchi, Jim Lee, Geoff Johns, Michael Turner, B. Bendis, S. McNiven, D. Finch, M. Morales, John Cassady, John Ney Rieber, Jim Lee, Chris Claremeon. I also have a Wolverine Origins on the bottom row signed by Gabrielle Del'Otto
  14. Good call. If you collect golden age and feel that way, you are ahead of the curve. You're supposed to grade those things? I'm just happy with some low grade copies of books with attractive (at least to me) covers - Case in point, this came in last week. No one else will be excited but I was - i've always been a fan of Captain Marvel, but I've never had a chance to read the older runs. i've recently started seeing more images of that Captain Marvel. I'm not familiar with it, but is that a GA issue? If so, I'm liking that even more because I think he looks asian!
  15. i know that everyone who wants these books probably has them by now, but i got these as a presale from Colossus Comics at an amazing amazing amazing price waay before anyone knew they would be huge. the story of these books is actually on the price. i purchased the presale for these about 3 months before the issue came out (just waaay in advance) because I had a feeling the issue would be big, and when he had a listing for the regular cover and the variant cover in a single lot + reading copies, I was down. the price I paid for these books was a steal. why? because they listing he put up was actually a TYPO and not the price he had intended. i bought 1 of the 10 he had up, and once i checked the listing again, it was gone. some time went by and i got an email saying that the listing price i had purchased was a typo, but the seller was going to honor the price. how great is that?? all in all, the total price I paid for 4 copies of Cap #25, 2 being cgc 9.8 was about $57US
  16. why only 1 and 6 (aside from the fact that the covers are awesome)?
  17. and another big thanks again to Carlos for getting Mike Perkins' signature (on all the books he worked on for the series) added to my already signed Cap run: (sorry about those huge pics previously. i didnt think they'd actually look that big)
  18. big thanks to Carlos of Shockwave comics (ebay id: gothamcentral), whom I saw at the supershow the other day for getting the rest of my CW variants signed by Turner, along with 2 sketch covers, probably my favorite covers of the series:
  19. nice books Korvac! how much did you haggle down the price for that 9.4?
  20. For me, the Iron Man #1 has much more sentiment to me than an Adventure #40. I own 2 midgrade copies of Iron Man #1, so I can appreciate a high grade copy. I do not own, nor do I have interest in a All-American comic. Besides the book is a pedigree copy, not just an everyday Iron Man #1. I have less tolerance for Spawn collectors or even 9.8 copper age X-men collectors, because those books are plentiful in high grade. not that I collect Spawn at all, but what's wrong with Spawn collectors?
  21. that is an amazing looking Batman! you've officially made me jealous
  22. oh man! talk about beautiful looking books! i swear i thought i heard the church choir signing when i saw those images.
  23. those were some crazy x-men books that were posted! and such amazing grades too! i'll probably never see those kinds of books in person but at least there's those pics
