  6. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5060300&Main=5060300#Post5060300 here's the post from Comics General (now that the thread I made dropped off the 1st page) It's one book that spawned from my favorite movie and a title that I began reading on and off from a young age, and a film that I've seen at least over 100 times at this point. That movie is Aliens, the one directed by James Cameron with Sigourney Weaver. I remember seeing the movie with my cousin, we must have been 7 or 8 years old. His grandmother rented it for us to watch and we watched it over and over. And yes, we even had and played with the toys! Then came the first time I saw an Aliens comic book in a store and I HAD to get it. It would be an issue from the second series with the painted interiors. The issue I happened to buy was the one that had Ripley making an appearance at the end, so that further engaged me in the comics. I'd even read the novels, Earth Hive, Nightmare Asylum and Female War. Then came the first time I picked up an early edition of the first tpb and I read that Hicks and Newt were characters in the comic book! As a child I never questioned "Wilks" and "Billie" as characters, but when I revisited the comics of my youth, I had questions! It turns out that when Alien 3 was released (and killed Hicks and Newt), Dark Horse had no choice but to change the names of the characters between stories. Subsequent printings of the first series and tpb would also feature the name change as well. An even longer story slightly shorter, at the Fan Expo this year, two actors from the film made an appearance! Hicks - Michael Biehn and Bishop - Lance Henriksen. My first immediate notion was to get a high grade Aliens #1 (off of the forums of course!) and get it signed by those actors for Signature Series. They both had films they were promoting: But man oh man, it was great to meet these guys and just talk for even a few minutes. I never, ever would have imagined meeting anyone from the movie, but to have them both sign the same comic and submit it for grading? Too awesome! It was awesome meeting Lance Henriksen and Michael Biehn (one of my childhood heroes!) in the same day. Both guys were in Aliens AND Terminator. So here's a pic I took of the book before it was packaged up for CGC: As I was wrapping up with Lance, he even gave me a photo and extra autograph!
