Batman 30 is up next. A beautiful 5.0 blue with off-white pages, great WWII cover and the first appearance of Ally Babble.
I see three recent precedents on eBay to cite -- a 1.5 missing a big chunk of front cover sold for $629, the Rockford 6.5 sold for $2500 (at least according to watchcount.com, it sold at list price), and a 7.0 is currently listed with an ask of $2189.
Let's call this guy $1500 shipped
Any more GA?

I am not exactly flush myself but can you message me on the right way to go about this. I’d love to do something similar. I have books I can put out for my cause but it seems you have a real handle on things. Might wait to do mine next year as I don’t want to rush it but super cause my friend.
Congratulations .

Candidly, I think you need to change your business model. Buy the books outright at a price you feel you can resell for profit, or insist that you hold consignment books.
You don't see allot of dealers who consign books without possession. If the consigner misses resto or doesn't ship them safely or over grades, no one is going to blame him. They are going to blame the guy they bought the books from.
I know ComicConnect will consign without possession because they don't have storage for all their consignments. It's caused allot of headaches for all parties. But I also know if I buy from comic Connect and things go wrong, they'll stand behind everything. The risk is minimal to the buyer (besides inconvenience). You have to earn that trust and reputation.
This isn't a criticism or an attack. Honestly, I'm very supportive of anyone starting their own business. I also want as many sellers here as possible. But you gotta give people confidence that they can buy from you.
I appreciate this. Never had an issue with a sale ever. And I’m reasonable as is everyone that consigns with me. We will happily reason with grades and offers as well as potential refunds/ partial refunds if there is a case for it.
thank you for the advice though it is appreciated. Support small business’

What if the owner misses restoration? What if there are missing pages or pieces? What if there are defects that aren't obvious in the pictures? What if the owner doesn't ship? What if he decides he wants to cancel the deal? What if the books are damaged during shipping? What if the buyer wants to return the books?
So much can go wrong when you haven't examined the books and don't have them in your possession and aren't in control of everything. And while you may trust the owners their grading skills and prices indicate they don't know what they're doing or they can't be trusted.
The owner is a collector and hobbyist. All these risks are accounted for. Within 2 weeks we would accept any return with a valid reason. Rest assured. I know al this advice is for the good of the community

Have you physically seen the books or just pictures?
Pictures for now but I trust the owners. They aren’t hiding anything

FYI, the seller told me that he charges $50 shipping to the US for a single raw comic worth around $200.
For avengers shipping from U.K. insured yes. Please check postal rates for dhl and parcel force please and thanks

It's time for CGC Mike to euthanize this entire thread. You may be a wonderful human being, but neither you nor your consignor know what you're doing when it comes to grading comic books. There is no way the Avengers #57 offered here is a 6.0 FN to 6.5 FN+, and there is no way the FF #48 is a 3.0 GD/VG. Not even close.
I’m current reassessing raw grade and prices. Bear with me.

Who would be shipping those books that you don't have in your possession? Will the consigner ship them to you for you to ship to the buyer or will the consigner ship them directly to the buyer? Will returns be to you or to the consigner?
Sorry totally my fault. Will amend now. Owners of books will ship directly to buyers. I only consign with collectors that know what they’re doing. Ship well. No issues to date. Thanks for pointing out

I've followed the conversation but avoided weighing in because I don't like piling onto people. I'm weighing in now because I saw your exchange with @Polonsky who is someone I have an incredible amount of respect for.
If you are sincere in trying to repair your reputation, you have to clean up the nonsense. I think many of us could look past the FB stuff and give you the benefit of the doubt that you want a fresh start. But that aside, your threads always seem to come with allot of drama. Selling books on multiple platforms despite being warned. Over grading, over priced, not having possession of the books and no returns. It's allot of red flags.
@Polonsky is a great seller on these forums. Not only for the quality of books that he sells, but for the quality of person he is. How he treats people and talks to people. So if you are looking to build a business, that's a guy you should be looking to emulate.
I agree I’ve actually had a really good chat with Lee on Instagram. And I plan to sir it’s taken me a second to figure out the rules of this forum but I plan to follow them. I appreciate the kind words and advice. God bless. Happy holidays 🎄

Hi All,
Didnt know this part of the forum existed. I’m trying to price books better and more accurately.
** this is a consignment and so I don’t have book in hand but a great relationship with the owner and will get any more pics if required 😊
Would love some help on grades and a fair price on this avengers 57, nice colour but some spine issues and a split at the bottom…. Still staples both firmly attached. Love to hear all your thoughts

The consigner doesn't determine the grade, the person selling it does. Because the dispute will be between you and the buyer not the buyer and the consignor.
Do you have the books in your possession or is the consignor holding them?
Consigner is holding them but like i stated above will talk to him and get a view on community’s thoughts.

Tbh I am loving the advice and the willingness for discussion thanks all. Happy holidays 🎄

Your avengers 57 is not even close to a 7.0. 3 inch spine split, tons of cover wear, etc. I’m close to a 2.0 on it. it’s ironic considering you have a graded 7.0 Xmen in the same sale. Please compare the two and be honest with yourself about the avengers 57.
This isn’t about mean people bringing you down and this isn’t about you being a little off on the grade and having a discussion. Please don’t blame us or try to deflect criticism. It will only hurt your reputation further.
Your avengers 57 is probably the most over-graded key I’ve ever seen for sale here.
I am trying to learn bud - also its a consignment book so I let the collector grade it and price it if it doesnt sell its no skin off my nose (or so i thought but seems it is) I am having a chat with him later today and will go from there. Yes I was very defensive and im sorry trying to be better thanks for the advice good sir! Happy holidays

Welcome to trying out the business world. Take the time to learn how to grade, how to price, how to manage costs.
If you are only making 10% consigning at those prices you need to re think your clients or expectations, if someone is expecting $900 return on that Avengers 57 you need to educate them on the market. .An Avengers 57 in 5.0 is $500 (which may be what that book grades). A CGC graded Avengers 57 in CGC 6.5 can be bought right this minute for $669 on ebay. Already graded no "I will be willing to discuss my grading" it is graded.
And since you are editing your posts now, you originally had that Avengers 57 at 6.5 -7.0.
Thank you both I honestly appreciate these comments I will talk to the owner of the books that has consigned them and ask them to reconsider grades/prices and relist accordingly thank you all!

Case closed. You don't get it.
Shipping from the UK to USA is 40-80$ depending on insurance... I am trying to get it I just want to understand who would cover shipping and fees? I barely have a margin on most books... maybe 10% and I would take a loss in the scenario im taking returns on my dime. im trying dude...

Don't know the back story on this seller but would like to hear it. I looked at you're first post with your rules. Here's a killer for most educated buyers on here.
"PRICED TO SELL SO NO RETURNS I’m a reputable seller will send as many pics as you want. "
I find it kind of amusing you say you are " reputable " but offer no returns. Any reputable dealer on these boards has a return policy, period. If you think you're reputable, then you have to back it up with a return policy. Hell, some of us offer returns on slabs, the whole nine yards, but carry on.
I dont understand why there should be a return policy if there is nothing to hide obviously if I sent someone a book with a missing MVS but or page to discover this is the case once shipped I will accept a return - i will amend to NO RETURNS - if any flaws are discovered that were not communicated or hidden a full refund will be offered
Who covers the shipping in these instances, trying to learn and be better thanks - if anyone can help me better grade/price those books advice is appreciated thanks all

I’m happy to have any discussion about grades. I’ve seen massively under and over graded books. Submitted been shocked and pleased. I don’t understand people’s constant need in this hobby to bring people down I will consider reasonable offers. Most of the books I’m selling are graded. And the raw ones I’m open to discussing grades. Thank you.

Two years is not very long. It was an incident that has understandably tarnished your rep. This is not the last time it will be brought up as you attempt to sell something, and learning to take responsibility without going on the attack or being sarcastic will be the first step. This is not the first sales post I have seen this come up, with the attacks, but I decided to say something here as I want it to be the last that transpires this way.
I am accepting what I did was reckless, wrong and appreciate everyone wants to protect the community. I am trying to do better and hope to one sale at a time. If anyone would like to purchase they can ask for more pictures. I am clear as to what is consignment. I have full permissions from owners and have built good relationships with them.
PayPal g&s encouraged. Any doubts can be put to rest with reviews and kudos post. Thank you all have a happy holidays 🎄 stay blessed.
