  1. You and me both, but I can only afford to treat myself to one every once in a while, 'cause they're crazy expensive!
  2. There are very few hobbies like collecting comics! Good, clean fun where you can do as little or as much as your budget will allow and you can pick it up or put it down whenever you choose, knowing it'll be there waiting for you when you return.
  3. Well at least you have the scans to compare and enjoy!
  4. THAT is awesome!!! Having the different grade increments is VERY cool!!! Are you done or will there be more?
  5. November 1965 land monster to November 1965 fire breathing monster.
  6. Actually, pretty much every certified copy I have in the area are labeled with Ditko getting a writing credit!
  7. Well, I have THIS copy that I've had for quite a while and Steve Ditko and Stan are BOTH credited with writing the story, so that might be what you remember seeing.
  8. I haven't checked to see what these are going for, but I'd bet that these great Doom covers are still really affordable.
  9. In fact, it's hard to image not wanting to investigate THIS battle!!!
  10. Some of the earlier issues in the run are worth grabbing if you get the chance Billy! Look at Doom being knocked out of his armor on this cover!!! And this splash page by the great Wally Wood starts the story off with a certain majestic flair!
  11. Beautiful copy Ben and it surely looks better than the assigned grade! One of Schomburg's best early covers (LOVE me some Daring Mystery #1 as well)!!!
  12. Thanks, I thought so too, and it was the first one I'd seen without a price on it. I just kept looking at it. It wasn't until a large Heritage search that I found another without a price on the cover. It was then that I also noticed a distinct font difference in the ones WITH a price on them. Kinda nutty that one issue has 3 different price variants.
  13. Very possibly true! A case could be made for MANY Marvel Silver Age covers to be considered "classics."
